초등학교 학생의 사회성발달을 위한 문화 공간 연구 = A Study on the cultural space for socialization of Elementary school students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초등학교는 사회생활을 하는 본격적인 대인 관계의 시작 단계라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 최근의 사회 현상은 저 출산에 따른 부모의 과잉보호와 인터넷 사용으로 아동상호간에 대화와 친밀한 교제가 줄었다고 할 수 있다. 학교는 학생들이 하루 중 대부분을 생활하는 교육의 장으로써 학생들의 지적·정서적 만족감을 주는 동시에 사회화에 중요한 역할을 하는 공간이기도 하다.
이에 본 연구는 학생들이 원만한 사회생활을 할 수 있도록 상호간 이해의 폭을 넓히고 사회화를 돕기 위한 학교 문화 환경에 대한 학생들의 인식을 분석한 결과 학교에 필요한 문화환경 개선을 위해 방향을 제시하였다.
첫째, 학교 환경에 대한 이미지를 분석한 결과 학생들은 학년과 교실 위치에 따라 전체를 보는 시각과 색채에 대한 느낌이 다름을 알 수 있었다.
둘째, 쉬는 시간 활동에 대해 분석한 결과 바깥에서 교실로의 접근성 편리에 따라 외부로의 이동에 영향을 주었다.
셋째, 쉬는 시간에 복도에서 하고 싶은 문화 활동으로 교실 근처에서 음악듣기와 테이블이 있는 공간에서 친구와 대화를 하거나 가벼운 책 읽기를 좋아하였다.
넷째, 쉬는 시간에 바깥에서 활동을 늘리기 위해 필요한 환경으로 쉬는 시간이 길었으면 하였고 건물 가까이 놀 수 있는 공터와 교실이 1층에 있으면 하는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 학생들은 희망하는 문화 공간으로 옥상과 연못 또는 실개천 등 자연을 느낄 수 있는 생태 공간을 희망하였다.
이와 같은 분석 결과를 토대로 다음과 같이 학교 문화 환경 개선방안을 제언하였다.
첫째, 학생들이 느끼는 학교 환경의 이미지는 학년과 교실의 위치에 따라 인식의 정도가 다르므로 학년과 교실의 위치를 분석하여 학생들이 좋아하는 색채를 다르게 구성하고, 외부에서 눈에 잘 띄지 않는 곳에 대한 배려가 더 필요하며 화장실은 문화와 휴식을 갖춘 복합적인 공간으로 벤치와 조경을 갖춘 소통과 감성의 장이 되도록 하며 깨끗한 환경을 위해 보수와 청소용역 등 전문적인 관리가 필요하다.
둘째, 교실의 위치에 따라 고층에 있는 학생들이 바깥으로 쉽게 드나들 수 있는 엘리베이터를 설치하고 보통교실과 특별교실의 효율적인 공간 재배치가 필요하며, 내부에서 활동하고자 하는 학생들을 위한 휴식이나 놀이를 위한 공간 확보가 필요하다.
셋째, 수업시작 전과 수업 중간에는 시간상 외부활동을 할 여유가 없으므로 내부에서 활동이 가능하도록 복도 폭을 확대하고 휴게 공간을 설치하여 친구와 대화를 하거나 가벼운 책 읽기를 할 수 있도록 하여야 한다.
넷째, 학생들은 학교 안에 새로운 문화 활동 공간으로 옥상에 놀이 공간을 가장 많이 선호하였다. 이는 교실에서 옥상으로 공간이동이 용이하여 선택한 것으로 보이며 남학생이 좋아하는 미끄럼틀 등 놀이기구와 여학생이 좋아하는 책을 읽을 수 있는 휴게 공간, 도시의 학생들이 희망하는 자연학습장과 친구들과 장난할 수 있는 모래밭 등 다양한 형태의 공간을 마련하여 선택적으로 사용할 수 있도록 하며, 또한 옥상의 활용을 높일 수 있도록 안전 난간시설과 계단을 통한 접근성 향상 및 활동이 가능한 바닥재의 설치와 생태 녹지 공간화 등이 필요하다.
다섯째, 학생들은 옥외 공간에서 자연을 가까이 느낄 수 있도록 연못, 실개천과 벤치 등 다양한 생태 공간을 조성하여야 할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Elementary school is the beginning step of personal relationships. However, the recent social phenomenon shows that the communication and intimate fellowship between the children are decreasing. This is due to the increase in Internet uses and their parents’ excessive protection caused by a low birthrate. School performs an important role in educating and socializing students. Students get intellectual and emotional satisfactions while they spend most of a day there.
This research is aimed to understand cultural school environment for students, to help socializing students and to improve the necessary cultural environment. Also, this research has guided to the understanding of the expanded socialization, including improving school cultural environment for students and has presented the direction to improve the necessary cultural environment. The next was obtained from a survey of Elementary school students. The survey analysis results are as follows.
First, the analysis of the visual and colorful feelings about their school environment shows they feel differences in the school image depending on their grade and the location of the classroom.
Second, the analysis of their activities during break time indicates they are more influenced to move outside the classroom, depending on convenience of accessibility to the outside.
Third, cultural activities they want to do in the hallway during recess are to listen to music, to read some books, or to chat with friends in a relaxing space for dialog.
Fourth, they want their classroom to be on the ground floor, to extend the recess time in the need of more outside activities and to have an outside space for playing near at hand.
Fifth, students wish an ecological park as a cultural space where there are rooftop, a pond or a garden, etc. They want to be closer with nature.
My suggestion for improving school cultural environment based on the results of the above survey is as follows.
First, the image of school environment students feel is varied because they recognize it in different ways depending on their grade and classroom location. Therefore, school needs to use their favorite colors on each space diversely and to care more for some unseen corners as well. Also, the function of toilet facilities in the school should be improved to provide emotionally comfortable space and more professional management is needed as well.
Second, an elevator is needed to be installed in the high-rise classrooms so that students can easily step out to outside. Efficient space rearrangement is required among classrooms and special classrooms and spaces are needed for students who are more interested in indoor activities to rest or to play.
Third, students cannot afford to do outdoor activities during break time. It needs to broaden the hallway width to enable more indoor activities and to install rest zones to chat with friends or to read books.
Fourth, students preferred the roof space to play on as the new cultural activity space the most. The reason seems that they can access easily to the roof space from their classroom. Boys preferred the playground rides such as slides, while girls wanted rest lounge to relax and to read their favorite books. Urban students hoped natural learning ground and to enjoy many outdoor activities with friends in various forms. To make good use of the available space, it is needed to improve accessibility through the stairs and to install safe handrails, good flooring materials and ecological green zone.
Fifth, students need a variety of ecological spaces such as a pond or a garden so that they can feel the nature closer in the outdoor spaces.
