The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the Career Exploration Counseling Program on career decision-making self-efficiency and the learning motivation of Girl's middle school student.
The hypotheses for the study were made as follows.
First, the Career Exploration Counseling Program would improve students' career decision-making self-efficiency of girl's middle school.
Second, the Career Exploration Counseling Program would improve the sub-factors of career decision-making self-efficiency: choosing goals, job information, planning future and problem solving.
Third, the Career Exploration Counseling Program would improve the learning motivation of Girl's middle school student.
Forth, the Career Exploration Counseling Program would improve the sub-factors of the learning motivation : intrinsic value, self esteem and curiosity and confidence.
The subjects of this study were 20 members who were from W middle school in B-gu, Dae-gu(control group 10, experimental group 10). This program was performed once a week for 4 weeks and the first session was carried out three times and each lasted for 60 to 90 minutes.
The scale of career decision-making self-efficiency used in this study was the Test for the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficiency adapted by Lee Un-kyung for high and middle school students, which was based on Career Decision-making Self-Efficiency made by Taylor and Betz(1983). The scales of Learning Motivation was the Test for Learning Motivation developed by Kim Hee-yeong. This study used Split-Plot Factorial Design and all sorts of data are analysed by SPSS for Windows 12.0. the statistically significant level was set at .05.
The results of this study ware as follows:
First, the Career Exploration Counseling Program improved Girl's middle school students' career decision-making self-efficiency.
Second, the Career Exploration Counseling Program improved the sub-factors of career decision-making self-efficiency: choosing goals, job information, planning future and problem solving.
Third, the Career Exploration Counseling Program improved the learning motivation of students of Girl's middle school.
Forth, the Career Exploration Counseling Program improved the sub-factors of the learning motivation : intrinsic value, self esteem and curiosity and confidence.
