The purpose of this study is to show how young children`s creativity is affected by art material exploration activities.
The major research questions are as follows:

2. Do art material exploration activities affect the four components of fluency, flexibility, originality and imagination in young children`s creativity?
The subject in this study is 36 children in total who are included in two classes of 4-year-old in a kindergarten which is located in Yongin city of Gyeonggi Province and they are divided into an experiment group(N=20) and a comparison group(N=16). While art material exploration activities are given to the experiment group(N=20) for eight weeks, expression-oriented art activities without material exploration are given to the comparison group(N=16).
The research process was done in order of test tools, subject selection, preliminary test, researcher training, pretest, main activities and post test. The method to test creativity used in this study is K-CCTYC developed by Chun, Kyung-Won(2000). For data processing and analyzing, score difference between two groups was accessed by t-test using SPSS.
The results of this study are summarized as follows.
Firstly it was observed that the experiment group with art material exploration activities had meaningfully enhanced development compared to the comparison group with expression-oriented art activities.
Secondly it was observed that the experiment group with art material exploration activities had meaningfully enhanced development compared to the comparison group with expression-oriented art activities in sub factors, i.e., fluency, flexibility, creativity.
