일부 고등학생들의 자살에 대한 생각, 계획 및 시도와 그의 관련요인

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was attempted in order to grasp suicide behavior according to the distinct features in general characteristic, school life, and empirical characteristic on suicide and to evaluate the relative importance on the relationship among related factors in high school students in some communities.
The study is aimed at finding out the situation of some students' suicide ideation, plans, and attempts and the factors which affect them from July 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009 and the result of the research for 2,082 students(male 1,093, female 989)of A and B area high schools in the Central Districts is as follows.

1. The suicide ideation rate of respondents is 38.8% and the percentage of female students 44.8% is higher than that of male students 33.4% and the percentage according to region is almost the same as urban 38.0% and rural 39.8% respectively.
The percentage of suicide ideation in urban area is higher in suicide attitude for those who have such conditions as subjectively bad health condition, smoking, drinking, parting experience from friends, subjectively unhappiness, quarreling experience with parents, a home economy crisis, quarreling with parents. On the other hand, the percentage of rural area is higher for those who have such backgrounds as subjectively bad health condition, quarreling experience with parents, a home economy crisis. The percentage of both urban and rural area are equally higher for those who are in the condition of technical education field, unsatisfaction of school life, having experience of suicide assistance, experiencing of family member's suicide, and suicide case management or counseling experience.

2. The suicide plan rate of respondents is 8.8% and female 12.7% is higher than male 5.3% and urban 8.9% is similar to rural area 8.8%.
The suicide plan in urban area is higher for those who are in the condition of subjectively bad health, loss of parent, quarreling with parents, high grade, unsatisfaction of school life, the first year of technical education and bad terms with classmates and the percentage of rural area is higher for those who are in the condition of not living with parents, quarreling with parents, bad home economy, the first year of technical education, high grade and unsatisfaction of school life.
The percentage of those who have experienced suicide service, suicide case management, suicide case counseling and suicide education is equally high in urban and rural area.

3. The suicide attempt rate of respondents is 7.0% and female 10.7% is higher than male 3.6% and urban 6.9% is similar to rural area 7.0%.
The suicide attempt rate in urban areas is higher in suicide awareness and ideation for those who are in the condition of subjectively bad health, smoking, drinking, having parting experience from friends, quarreling with parents, high grade, unsatisfaction of school life and especially high parts are high grade, unsatisfaction of school life, not good terms with classmates. On the other hand, the percentage of rural area is high for those who are in the condition of loss of parents, not living with parents, welfare recipients, subjectively bad health, smoking, drinking, having parting experience from friends, quarrel experience with parents, technical education, high grade and unsatisfaction of school life.
The percentage of suicide plan for those who have experienced suicide service, suicide case management, suicide case counseling and suicide education is equally high in urban and rural areas.

4. The factors which affect the ideation of suicide are female, the experience of parting from friends, subjectively bad health, the first year of technical education, suicide case education and counseling and show equally high relevance in urban and rural areas.
The factors affecting suicide plan in urban areas are high in three quarters of suicide awareness and attitude with the condition of not living with parents, smoking, the second year of technical education, low grade, family member's suicide experience, and suicide case management and counseling experience and the factors in rural areas are high in three quarters of suicide awareness and attitude and four quarters of attitude for female, the experience of parting friends, subjectively bad health, quarrelling with parents, bad home economy, the first and second year, unsatisfaction of school life.

5. 5.7% of the respondents attempted suicide intentionally while 0.3% did impulsively, which means intentional suicide attempts are more common than impulsive ones and general education 4.3% is higher than technical education 2.6%
Female 3.2% is twice higher than male 1.1% and rural area 10.9% is higher than urban area 7.5%.

In conclusion, there is not a difference between urban and rural area in terms of high school students' suicide ideation, plans and attempts but those who are female, overweight, smoking, low classes, not good terms with classmates show relatively high percentage and suicide is usually committed intentionally. In this respect, consistent concern and direction are strongly requested.
