21세기 패션 스타일링에 나타난 초현실주의 표현기법 = Surrealistic Technique Expressed in 21C Fashion Styling

Surrealism appears to comfort a inner fear and a sense of futility of human after the World War and, it intends to the world of dream and unconsciousness as hideout of real world, also it was active in the sphere of fashion. Spirit and fashion of surrealism is well known whole over the 21st century and it is emerging as important trend in present fashion world.
So this thesis studies about a meanings of surrealism and surrealistic fashion as a mental liberated area of the moderners in the hard world.
The kind of surrealistic Expression techniques is automatism and depaysement as deviation to unconsciousness world and it is expressed as transposition, distortion, an optical illusion in fashion.
Surrealistic fashion is advanced in 21st century, it is due to development of digital technology and expansion of designers' imagination And also surrealistic fashion achieves eminence in fashion styling as showing fashion containing presentation of situation and space overcoming formative limits of human. Expression techniques can be classified like below. Transposition divides into inside and outside. Distortion divides into reappearance and non-reappearance of the structure of the human body. An optical illusion divides into by a drawing technique of two dimensions, by the feel of a material and texture.
Surrealistic expression techniques have common characteristic of contradiction and deviation through combination reality with fake, expression of distorting the real world, change the essence and position of an object. Contradiction and deviation provide paradoxical pleasant sensation through strange sense from a familiar things. paradoxical pleasant sensation goes with inside meaning of dualism, symbolism, a fantasy. Dualism coexists two heterogeneous elements, symbolism have new essence, A fantasy appears from strange and unfamiliar expression.
In our tough and disorderly modern society, people want to be comforted on the inside by something from beyond reality and this goes along the same line with characteristics of surrealism. The development of digital technology, infinite imagination and accommodation of general public add greatly to our desire towards virtual reality. They influence broadly in various fields of our today’s society, especially in fashion with exploration of the human body and substance of human nature. Through surrealism emerging in 21st century fashion styling, we can explore the human nature and be provided with spiritual consolation and satisfaction by returning to the essence of the world. In addition to that, we can also satisfy our needs about creative activity and artistic inspiration.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초현실주의는 전후 사람들의 내면적 공포와 정신적 허무를 위로하기 위해 등장하여 현실세계의 도피처로 꿈과 무의식의 세계를 지향했으며 패션 영역에서의 활동도 활발히 일어났다. 이러한 초현실주의 정신과 패션은 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 꾸준히 회자되었고 현대패션에 있어서도 중요한 트렌드로 자리매김하고 있다.
이에 본 논문은 각박한 현대사회를 살아가고 있는 현대인들의 정신적 분출구로써 초현실주의와 초현실주의 패션이 가지는 의의에 대해서 살펴보았다. 무의식세계의 일탈을 위한 초현실주의 표현기법으로 오토마티즘과 데페이즈망이 있으며 패션에서는 전치, 왜곡, 착시로 표현된다.
초현실주의 패션은 21세기 들어와 한층 진보된 양상으로 나타나는데 이는 디지털 테크놀로지의 발전과 디자이너의 상상력의 확대에 기인하고 있으며 또한 21세기 초현실주의 패션은 인체라는 조형적 한계를 벗어나 상황, 공간의 연출을 포함한 보여주는 패션으로 패션 스타일링 연출에서 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 표현기법에 따라 나누어 보면 외부적 전치와 외부적 전치와 더불어 공간적 전치를 살펴볼 수 있고 왜곡은 인체의 과학적 구조에 근거하여 인체재현성과 비재현성으로 나누어 볼 수 있으며 이는 착시는 2차원드로잉기법, 소재의 재질감, 상황·연출에 의한 착시로 나타났다.
이러한 초현실주의 표현기법은 사실과 허구의 결합, 왜곡된 현실의 표현, 대상물의 고유속성과 위치변환이라는 성격 속에서 모순과 일탈이라는 공통적 특성을 가지며 모순과 일탈은 익숙한 것에서의 낯설음을 통해 역설적 쾌를 제공한다. 역설적 쾌는 하나의 대상물에 이질적 두 요소가 공존하는 이중성, 새로운 속성을 부여받는 상징성, 그리고 비일상적이고 낯선 표현 안에서 나타나는 환상성이라는 내적의미를 동반한다.
각박하고 혼란스러운 현대사회에서 사람들은 현실 너머의 무엇인가로 내면의 위로를 받고자 하고 이는 초현실주의 성격과 그 맥을 같이하고 있다. 또한 디지털 테크놀로지의 발달, 무한의 상상력과 일반대중의 수용력은 가상현실에 대한 우리의 욕구를 더욱 가중시켜 현대사회의 광범위한 분야에 영향을 미치고 있으며 특히 인체와 사람의 본질에 대한 탐구로 패션에서 더욱 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 우리는 21세기 패션 스타일링에서 나타나는 초현실주를 통해 인간 본질의 탐구와 본질적 세계로의 회귀라는 정신적 만족과 위안을 제공받음과 더불어 창조활동과 예술적 영감의 원천에 대한 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있을 것이다.
