Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정의 비교연구 = Comparison Research of Childhood Education Curriculum between Alta Vista and University of the Nations

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리나라 기독교 유아교육의 핵심과제인 기독교유아교육과정의 개발 및 적용을 위해 도움이 될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 기독교 세계관에 기초한 Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정을 선정하여 연구하였다.

본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

1. Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학의 유아교육과정의 철학적 배경과 목적, 교육과정의 구성 및 내용, 교수학습 방법과 평가는 어떠한가?
2. Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학의 유아교육과정의 철학적 배경과 목적, 교육과정의 구성 및 내용, 교수학습 방법과 평가에 있어 유사점과 차이점은 무엇인가?
3. Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학의 유아교육과정의 공통되는 특성과 강조점이 우리나라 기독교 유아교육과정의 개발에 주는 시사점은 무엇인가?

본 연구방법은 Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정에 관한 문헌을 수집하고 교육과정 구성요소를 근거로 하여 철학적 배경과 목적, 교육과정의 구성 및 내용, 교수학습 방법과 평가를 비교해 보았다.

연구에 따른 결론을 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정은 철학적 배경과 목적, 교육과정의 평가에 있어서는 유사한 점들이 많았고, 교육과정의 구성과 내용, 교수방법 등에서는 차이가 있다.
둘째, 기독교 유아교육과정의 교육철학은 기독교 세계관에 근거해야 하며 우리나라에서 Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정의 바람직한 실행을 위해서는 교사들의 기독교 세계관 확립을 위한 교육이 필요하다.
셋째, Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정의 교육내용이나 교수방법을 보았을 때 기독교 교육을 하고자 하는 기관에서 현행 유치원 교육과정 대신 사용하거나 교육과정의 내용을 부분적으로 선택하여 자신의 교육기관의 실정에 맞게 적용하여 사용하는 것이 가능함을 알 수 있다.
넷째, Alta Vista 유아교육과정의 교육내용을 우리나라 2007년 개정 유치원교육과정의 5개 생활영역에 기준하여 비교하였을 때 사회생활과 언어생활, 탐구생활의 세 영역에 많은 비중을 두고 있고, Nations대학 유아교육과정의 경우는 탐구생활영역 중 ‘탐구하는 태도와 과학적 기초능력 기르기’에 많은 비중을 둔 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 Alta Vista 유아교육과정과 Nations대학 유아교육과정을 유치원현장에 활용할 경우 사회생활과 언어생활, 탐구생활에 중점을 둔 교육과정을 효과적으로 운영할 수 있다.
다섯째, 두 교육과정 모두 교사를 통한 성령의 역사를 강조하였는데, 특별히 Nations대학 유아교육과정의 구체적인 교사점검표를 교육현장에서 적용함으로 교사의 영적인 성장을 기대할 수 있다. 이는 그 과정을 통해 교사가 영적인 깨달음을 얻고 자신을 돌아보며 기쁨으로 교육과정을 수행할 수 있도록 하기 때문이다. 따라서 앞으로 개발하고자 하는 기독교유아교육과정도 성령의 역사가 강조되어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the development and practice of the Christian childhood education curriculum in korea through the analyzing and comparing the curriculum of Alta Vista and University of the Nations which are based on a Christian world view.

Research subjects established for achieving the purpose of this study are as follows:

1. What are the philosophical background and purpose of the childhood education curriculum, composition and contents of education curriculum and teaching methods and evaluation of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations?

2. What are similarities and differences in the philosophical background and purpose of the childhood education curriculum, composition and contents of education curriculum and teaching methods and evaluation of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations?

3. What are implications of the common features and emphasized points of the childhood education curricular of Alta Vista and University of the Nations to the development and practice of a Christian childhood education curriculum in Korea?

For this research, literary records concerning the childhood education curriculum of Alta Vista and University of the Nations were collected, common features and different features were analyzed through the research and comparison of the philosophical background and purpose of the childhood education curriculum, composition and contents of education curriculum and teaching methods and evaluation of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations, based on compositions of educational curriculum.

Conclusions of this study research are as follows:

Firstly, there were many similarities in the philosophical background and purpose of the childhood education curriculum and evaluation of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations but there was difference in composition and contents of education curriculum, and teaching methods, etc.

Secondly, educational philosophy of the Christian childhood education curriculum must be based on the Christian world view, and education for the establishment of the teachers' Christian world view is required for the desirable execution of the childhood education curriculum of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations in Korea.

Thirdly, considering the education curricular and teaching methods of the Alta Vista and the University of the Nations, it is understood that the Christian education institutes may use them instead of the current education curriculum of the kindergarten or partially select the contents of the education curriculum suitably for the actual conditions of the self-education institutes.

Fourthly, when comparing the contents of the childhood education curriculum of the Alta Vista based on 5 life areas of the childhood education curriculum which was revised in 2007, it is noted that the childhood education curriculum of the Alta Vista focuses on three (3) areas of social life, language and exploration life and the childhood education curriculum of the University of the Nations mainly focuses on the "To rear exploring attitude and scientific basic power" of the exploration life areas. Thus, in case of applying both the childhood education curriculum of the Alta Vista and that of the University of the Nations to the actual site of the kindergarten, the education curriculum focusing on the social life, language and exploration life can be effectively operated.

Fifthly, the both education curricular emphasized the role of Holy Spirit. The spiritual growth of a teacher may be
expected by specially applying the particular teaching checklist of the childhood education curriculum of the University of the Nations. The reason is that the teacher can obtain spiritual enlightenment through teaching process, retrospect himself/herself and perform the education curriculum with joyfulness. Thus, the role of Holy Spirit should be emphasized in the developing and practicing of Christian childhood education curriculum in the future.
