대한민국 군악교육대의 운용실태 조사 및 개선방안에 관한 연구 : 해군군악대를 중심으로 = A study on administrating the actual conditions and the improvement programs of the School of Korean military Band :Focused on R.O.K navy band

국문 초록 (Abstract)

100년이 넘는 대한민국 관악의 역사와 흐름을 살펴보면, 일제시대와 6.25 등의 어려운 환경 속에서도 군악대는 국군 장병과 시민들에게 항상 기쁜 일이 있을 때는 즐거운 음악을, 슬픔이 있을 때에는 위로의 음악을 선사해주었다. 또한 대한민국 군악대는 정적인 무대연주에서부터 시각적이고 활동적인 무대연출 및 마칭 밴드에 이르기까지 장병과 시민을 위하여 혼신의 힘을 다하여 항상 노력해왔다. 이러한 노력의 결과로 대한민국의 군악대는 비록 서구에 비하여 길지 않은 역사를 가지고 있음에도 불구하고, 이제는 국내 · 외에서 세계적인 군악대들과 함께 동등하게 어깨를 겨루며 연주하고 있다.
하지만 연주기량만을 따진다면 아직 미국, 영국, 일본, 프랑스 등의 외국 군악대가 우리보다 뛰어난 연주기량을 가진 것이 현실이다. 그 이유에는 여러 가지가 있겠지만 무엇보다 외국군악대는 실무배치 이전에 화성학, 시창, 청음 등 음악 이론과 행진법, 행사요령 등을 체계적으로 가르쳐주는 군악학교가 있기 때문일 것이다. 이러한 군악학교를 통해 외국의 군악대원들은 보다 효율적으로 실무에 임할 수 있으며, 좀 더 뛰어난 연주기량을 보여줄 수 있다고 생각된다.
따라서 대한민국 군악대가 더욱 발전하기 위해서는 대한민국 군악교육대의 발전이 필요하다고 판단하였으며, 군악교육이 있어야 군악대의 미래가 있다고 생각된다

ABSTRACT

In 1901, The first Korean military band was established. But it was disorganized when Japanese captured Korea in 1910. The Korean military band was reorganized to 'Imperial western music band', but it was disorganized again in 1916. And in 1919, 'Kyung-sung band' was established by civilian organization to maintain the existence of Korean military band. But because of financial problem for the band, It was disorganized. After disorganization of 'Kyung-sung band', members of the band educated students at many schools to develop Korean brass band music.
After liberations from Japan, Army and Navy military band were established in 1946. Airforce and marine military band was established in 1951. In the early years, Korean military bands didn't have enough finance and educational aid to administrate the systems of the bands. In addition, Korean war broke out and the war overwhelmed thorough whole of the country. Korean military bands had to stop their mission during Korean War. But after the war, korean military bands have started to begin their operations again, and endeavored to encourage our soldiers. Korean military bands also has given many concerts and events for the people including Annual concert, school tour concert, 86 Asian Game, 88 Seoul-Olympic, 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and 2002 Pusan-Asian Game.
Korean military bands have won public recognition as excellent military bands. However, to compare with foreign military bands, It is very poor reality that an excellent band like Korean Military bands still don't have enough schools and educational environment for military band. The schools of military music in countries like USA and UK have history of 100~ 150years. For 150 years, they have developed the systems of the school, and the students of the school are having a good education under the substantial plan of the school. The school support many things such as making an educational environment, employing outstanding instructors and expanding facilities of the school for students to concentrate on education. On the other hand, In the case of Korean military bands, they don't still have enough people, finance, instructor and facility. Especially, Korean military bands, except the Navy band, have no military music educational system, so recruit military musicians who just finish the basic training camp have many difficulties for adapting and performing their duties in the bands.
Like national power, especially economic strength and military strength, of our country have been increased remarkably in 21th century, Our military bands need to be developed as our country's representative P. R groups. And for developing the level of the bands, we must have an education system for military musicians to educate the basic knowledge of military music. The Korea navy band also have to research on many cases of schools of many advanced military bands in foreign countries for developing.
