The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of participation motivation and flow experience according to subject's characteristics. Also, to know the relationship between participation motivation and flow experience was the purpose of this study. For the study, 237 subjects of golfer were selected from Kyungnam province. Collected data was analyzed to find out difference of each group using SPSS WINDOWS 12.0k ver. Based on the research, following results have been concluded.
Firstly, among demographical features of golfers, there was a significant difference in the subordinate factor of motivation for participation in terms of sex, age and earnings. However, in case of handicap, there was no significant difference in the subordinate factor of motivation for participation.
Secondly, among demographical features of golfers, there was a significant difference in motivation for participation in terms of sex, age and handicap. In case of earnings, there was no statistically significant difference in motivation for participation.
Thirdly, among golfers' subordinate factors of immersion for the sport, there was a significant difference in all subordinate factors in terms of immersion for cognition, but in case of capacity, there was a significant difference in only internal and external motivation among the subordinate factor of immersion for the sport.
Forthly, internal motivation and the subordinate factor of immersion for the sport showed high positive correlation, on the other hand, no motivation and the subordinate factor of immersion for the sport showed low negative correlation.
