다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents about the career education presented in the middle school Technology ․ Home Economics textbook.
All 10 types of Technology ․ Home Economics textbooks were presented according to the study, “Construction of Objective and Content Criteria for Career Education in Korea” suggested the purpose and content of middle school career education which is analyzed with Delphi method. This was based on the selected as the basic framework for this analysis.
The main findings of the study were as follows.
First, based on comparison standard, the career education in Technology ․ Home Economics textbook puts emphasis on certain areas. None of 10 textbooks cover “Self-understanding” and “career planning” areas. On the other hand, “work-based learning” is the most covered area.
Second, the content of career education in ten types of middle school Technology ․ Home Economics textbooks turned out to be similar in those textbooks.
Third, each textbook places different weight on the component of career education covered in each chapter.
From the above results, in order to vitalize career education through Technology ․ Home Economics class in middle school, I would like to propose the followings.
First, teachers should develop reliable and available teaching plans(guidances) related to authentic career areas after thorough understanding with possibilities of the career education in Technology ․ Home Economics.
Second, teachers should provide students with various types of occupational guidance materials as additional illustrative instances to help learners to meet their goals when teachers instruct students on career education with textbooks.
