The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between college students's stress and their maladjustment, and the mediating effect of dysfunctional beliefs. The subjects of this study were 380 of K university in Daegu. Life Event Form, Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire(SACQ), and Dysfunctional Attitude Scale(DAS) were used as measurements. Collected data were analysed using Pearson correlational analysis and Structural Equation Modeling(SEM).
The results of the study were as follows. First, students's stress had a direct on college students's dysfunctional beliefs, the dysfunctional beliefs had a direct on college students's maladjustment. But students's stress had no direct on college students's maladjustment.
Second, results indicated a mediating role of dysfunctional beliefs on the relationship between college students's stress and their maladjustment. Also the dysfunctional beliefs perfectly mediated between college students's stress and their maladjustment.
