The purpose of this study was to identify the difference in school life satisfaction of middle school students according to their soccer school sports club participation from a practical view. 431 male middle school students participating in a soccer school sports club in Busan province and 489 male middle school students not participating were selected to identify their school life satisfaction related to background variables and dependent variables.
This study is to provide teachers with teaching material and basic data for feasible plans to revitalize the school curriculum by activating school sports clubs.
For this study, questionnaires were used which consistedof background variables of academic grades, living standards, parental educational level and parents' occupations. Also, dependent variables of participation period, participation motivation, engagement time and school life satisfaction between participating in a school soccer club students and non participating student were analyzed.
The coded data was statistically processed using the SPSS/sin 12.0 version, descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, one-way ANOVA, T-test, and the results were as follows:
First, there was a difference between the school life satisfaction of students participating in a school sports club and students not participating.
According to the results of the analysis between students participating in soccer school sports club students and non participating student, a significant difference(p<.001) was found in general school life, fellowship, teachers, learning, school rules and school events.
Second, there was a difference of school life satisfaction between middle school students depending on their participation degree in a school sports club.
As the results of analysis regarding school life satisfaction according to the participating period, no significant difference was shown in general school life, fellowship, teachers, learning, school rules or school events.
As the result of analysis of the school life satisfaction according to the participating motivation, no significant difference was found in general school life, fellowship, learning, school rules or school events, but a significant difference(p<.05) was found in teachers.
Furthermore, no significant difference was shown in general school life, teachers, learning, school rules or school events, but a significant difference(p<.001) was found in fellowship with regards to their engagement of time and satisfaction in school life.
Third, the difference of school life satisfaction of middle school students participating in soccer school sports clubs depended on background variables.
As the result of analysis of the school life satisfaction according to the academic grade, a significant difference was found in the general school life(p<.01), some significant differences(p<.001) were found respectively in the relation with teachers, learning, school rules and school event but no significant difference was found in fellowship.
Higher level students were found most significant in the other factor except fellow ship.
As the result of analysis of the school life satisfaction according to the level of living, no significant difference was found in general school life or teachers, but some significant differences(p<.05) were found in the relationship with fellowship, learning and school rules. A significant difference (p<.001) was also shown in school events.
According to the result of analysis of the school life satisfaction depending on parents' educational level, a significant difference(p<.01) was shown only in fellowship but no significant difference was shown in general school life, teachers, learning, school rules or school events.
According to the results of analysis of the school life satisfaction depending on parents' occupation, no significant difference was found in general school life, teachers, learning, school rules, school events or fellowship.
