스포츠 스타가 TV 스포츠 방송편성에 미치는 영향 : 4대 스포츠 전문채널을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 스포츠 스타가 TV 스포츠 방송 편성에 얼마나 영향을 미치고 있는지를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 4대 스포츠 전문 채널(SBS 스포츠채널, MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS, XPORTS)의 방송 편성표를 2008년 10월 1일부터 2009년 3월 31일까지 분석하고, 실제 편성 업무를 하는 프로듀서들의 생각은 어떤지 알아보기 위해서 조사 대상으로 설정한 4대 스포츠 전문 채널의 편성 프로듀서 총 13명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 이러한 연구 절차와 자료 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
1) 스포츠 스타가 TV 스포츠 방송 편성에 미치는 영향의 정도
방송 편성표 분석 결과, XPORTS를 제외한 SBS 스포츠채널과 MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS 3개 스포츠 전문 채널 모두 방송 편성에서 스포츠 스타의 영향을 크게 받고 있었다. 편성 프로듀서를 상대로 한 설문 조사 분석 결과, 4대 스포츠 전문 채널의 편성 프로듀서의 100%가 스포츠 스타가 방송 편성에 영향을 미친다고 답했으며, 방송 횟수와 빈도 결정, 방송 시간대 선정, 출전 경기의 생중계와 녹화중계 여부 결정, 스포츠 스타와 관련된 특집 프로그램 편성 등 편성의 세부적인 각 부분에 대해서도 90% 이상이 스포츠 스타가 미치는 영향이 크다고 응답했다.
2) 스포츠 전문 채널에 따라 스포츠 스타가 방송 편성에 미치는 영향의 차이
조사한 4대 스포츠 전문 채널 중 전체적인 방송 편성에서 스포츠 스타의 영향을 가장 많이 받고 있는 채널은 SBS 스포츠채널과 MBC ESPN으로 나타났으며, 방송 횟수와 빈도 결정에서 두 채널이 모두 큰 영향을 받고 있었다. 방송 시간대 선정에서는 편성표 분석 결과, KBS N SPORTS에서 스포츠 스타의 영향력이 비교적 크게 나타났고, 출전 경기의 생중계와 녹화중계 여부 결정에서는 XPORTS를 제외한 SBS 스포츠채널과 MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS 세 개 채널 모두 큰 영향을 받고 있었다. 스포츠 스타와 관련된 특집 프로그램 편성 여부 결정에서는 MBC ESPN에서 스포츠 스타의 영향력이 크게 나타났다.
3) 스포츠 스타에 따라 TV 스포츠 방송 편성에 미치는 영향의 차이
방송 편성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 스포츠 스타는 박지성 선수로 나타났다. 박지성은 잉글리시 프리미어리그를 중계하고 있는 MBC ESPN을 비롯해, SBS 스포츠채널과 KBS N SPORTS 등 대부분의 채널에서 편성에 큰 영향력을 미치고 있었다. 이 3개 채널 모두에서 전반적으로 큰 영향력을 미치고 있는 선수는 박지성 선수가 대표적이었다. 두 번째로 김연아가 SBS 스포츠채널에서 가장 큰 영향력을 나타냈고, MBC ESPN과 KBS N SPORTS에서는 특집 프로그램 편성에 비교적 큰 영향을 미쳤다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to look into how much of influence a sports star has on television sports broadcasting programming. To attain this goal, it analyzed broadcasting programming table of 4 major sports special channels(SBS sports channel, MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS, XPORTS) from October 1st, 2008 to March 31, 2009, and had a survey of 13 producers of broadcasting programming part in order to find out what the producers who actually do the programming work think. Through these research procedures and analysis of materials, it came into a conclusion as followings.
1) The extent of influence a sports star has on television sports broadcasting programming
In a result of analyzing the broadcasting programming table, it found out that three of sports special channels SBS sports channel, MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS except for XPORTS were greatly affected by the sports stars in broadcasting programming. In a result of analyzing the survey of producers of broadcasting programming part, 100% of producers of the 4 major sports special channels said that sports star was affecting the broadcasting programming, and more than 90% of them replied that the sports star had a great effect on the programming of the small details such as the times and frequency of broadcasts, choosing the time of the broadcast, deciding whether a live TV and or a filmed TV broadcast of the game and broadcasting of special programs related with sports star.
2) The differences of influence that a sports star has on different sports special channels.
Among the 4 major sports special channels, the ones that were being affected most by sports stars in broadcasting programming on the whole were SBS sports channel and MBC ESPN. In deciding the times and frequency of the broadcast, both of the two were affected most. In choosing the time of broadcast, KBS N SPORTS was relatively great affected and deciding whether a live TV and or a filmed TV broadcast of the game, SBS sports channel, MBC ESPN, KBS N SPORTS, three channels except XPORTS, were great affected by the sports stars. In deciding whether organizing special programs related with sports stars or not, MBC ESPN was affected more by the sports star.
3) The differences of influence that a sports star has on different sports stars
A sports star who has the greatest effects on broadcasting programming turned out to be Ji-sung Park. Ji-sung Park was the one who most affected the broadcasting programming in sports special channels including MBC ESPN which is broadcasting English Premier League hook-up, SBS sports channel, KBS N SPORTS. The athlete who was greatly affecting all of the three channels on the whole was Ji-sung Park. Yu Na Kim had the second greatest effects on SBS sports channel, and had relatively big effects on MBC ESPN and KBS N SPORTS.
