The purpose of this study was to empirically analyze the effects of a group program using the Enneagram on daycare teachers' perceived self-efficacy and human relationship. For this purpose, the researcher sampled 40 teachers working for the daycare facilities in 'K' city of Korea and divided them equally into test and control groups.
Two groups' perceived self-efficacy and human relationship were pre-tested. The test group was subject to 7 rounds of a 3-hour group program for 21 hours, and then, two groups' perceived self-efficacy and human relationship were tested ex post facto comparatively.
This study was conducted from April 24 through June 5, 2008. Daycare teachers' perceived self-efficacy was measured using 'the Self-Efficacy Scale' developed by Kim Ah-young (1997), while their human relationship was measured using Schin and Guerney's (1971) 'Human Relationship Scale' translated by Lee Hyung-deuk and Moon Sun-mo (1980).
The data collected were processed statistically using the SPSS 13.0 program. In order to test the hypotheses, each group were surveyed with questionnaires before and after operation of the group program and the resultant scores were compared. The test group teachers' responses to the group program using the Enneagram were analyzed with a questionnaire.
As a result of this study, it was found that the test group teachers' perceived self-efficacy and human relationship had been improved. The results of this study can be summed up as follows;
First, the test group teachers' perceived self-efficacy was improved significantly by the group program.
Second, the test group teachers' perceived human relationship was improved significantly by the group program.
The above results may well suggest that the group program using the Enneagram was effective significantly in improving daycare teachers' perceived self-efficacy and human relationship.
