본 연구는 8주간의 규칙적인 현대무용 수행이 인체의 지단백 수준, 스트레스 호르몬 및 면역세포의 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 여자대학생 20명을 대상으로 현대무용군(10명)과 통제군(10명)으로 분류하여 현대무용집단은 8주 동안에 주 4회의 운동빈도로 1~4주까지는 55~65%HRmax 수준으로, 5~8주까지는 66~75%HRmax 수준의 운동강도로 현대무용 프로그램을 매회 60분간 실시하여 집단과 측정시기에 따른 안정시 변인들의 변화를 비교·분석한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 지단백 대사의 변인 중에 총 콜레스테롤, 중성지방, 저밀도지단백 콜레스테롤 및 아포리포단백체-B의 변화는 무용 수행 기간이 증가함에 따라 실험집단에서 유의하게 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 그리고 고밀도지단백 콜레스테롤과 아포리포단백체-A는 무용 수행기간이 증가함에 따라 유의하게 증가하는 경향을 보였다.
2. 스트레스 호르몬 반응 중 코티졸은 실험집단에서 무용수행기간이 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 에피네프린과 노르에피네프린은 무용 수행 기간이 증가함에 따라 유의하게 감소하였다.
3. T세포는 무용 수행기간이 증가함에 따라 유의하게 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 백혈구와 B세포의 경우에는 무용 수행기간이 증가함에 따라 유의하게 증가하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of modern dance-linked regular performance on changes in lipoprotein level, stress hormone secretion, and immune function. To carry out this study, 20 female students were selected from 'S' university, and each 10 students of them were divided into 2 groups as experimental and control group, and the experimental group (10 persons) were trained to perform the modern dancing program for 8 weeks. As variables for measurement, total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-C, LDL-C, apolipoprotein-A and B were measured to check a metabolic change of lipoprotein. For the hormonal change related to stress hormone, cortisol and catecholamine (epinephrine, norepinephrine) levels were measured. To examine a change of immune function, WBC, T-lymphocyte and B-lymphocyte were measured. All experiments were carried out in a steady state in 3 repeated times, and the data was analyzed by statistical analysis.
First, on metabolic change of lipoprotein, the numerical value of total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-C and apolipoprotein-B were significantly decreased (p<0.05) in experimental group who followed the dancing performance after 4 weeks up to 8 weeks compared with those of control group. However, the level of HDL-C apolipoprotein-A were increased (p<0.05) in experimental group after 8 weeks compared to control group.
Second, on stress hormonal change, cortisol levels were significantly decreased (p<0.05) in experimental group who carried out regular dancing performance after 8 weeks, and catecholamine(epinephrine, norepinephrine) levels was decreased (p<0.05) from start to end of the dancing performance.
Third, on a change of immune function, T-lymphocytes level was significantly decreased after 8 weeks dancing performance compared with that of starting point during the experiment. In case of WBC and B-lymphocytes, there was no change within 4 weeks, but they significantly increased after 8 weeks dancing performance.
t this point of view, participation in long period of modern dancing program targeting female students results in significant decrease of lipoprotein such as total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-C and apolipoprotein-B, while the dancing program induces increase of HDL-C and apolipoprotein-A, suggesting modern dancing program may have positive effects on the prevention of adult disease. In case of stress hormone secretion, the decreased levels of cortisol and catecholamine after regular dancing indicate that the dancing program can accelerate a response capacity to exercise stress.
Especially, the improvement on immune function judging by change of WBC, T-lymphocyte and B-lymphocyte compared with control group suggests that 8 weeks-long dancing program contribute to promotion of health in experimental group. Further, a study with diverse exercise pattern, stress scheme or measuring time as a new application will be need to elucidate meaningful change on improvement of health.
