청소년 내담자의 성격특성과 상담기대와의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년내담자들의 성격특성에 따른 상담기대의 차이를 알아보는데 목적이 있으며, 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년 내담자들은 성격특성군집에 따라 성격특성(신경증, 외향성, 개방성, 친화성, 성실성)에 차이가 있는가? 둘째, 청소년 내담자들은 성격특성군집에 따라 내담자 상담기대요인에 차이가 있는가?
이러한 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 충남 A시에 소재하는 일반계고등학교 1학년 남녀학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 성격특성을 측정하기위해 IPIP(International Personality Item Pool)를, 상담에 대한 내담자의 기대감을 측정하기 위해 상담에 대한 내담자의 기대감 척도를 사용하였다. 성격특성별로 군집화 하기위하여 군집분석을, 군집별 내담자 기대차이를 비교하기위하여 다변량분산분석을 이용하였다.
연구결과 청소년 내담자들은 성격특성(신경증, 외향성, 개방성, 친화성, 성실성)에 따라 뚜렷한 차이가 있는 4개의 군집을 형성하였으며, 각 군집 사이에 내담자의 상담기대에 관한 모든 하위변인(내담자태도와 행동, 내담자 특성, 상담자 태도와 행동, 상담자 특성, 과정특성, 상담효과)에 유의한 차이를 보여주어 성격특성들의 상호작용에 의한 기대 패턴들에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to identify variation of the expectation for counseling according to the personality traits of the Youth client. Detailed tasks of the study are as following. First, do the Youth clients really show the differences in their characteristics as personality traits(neuroticism, extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness) indicate? Second, do the client's expectation for counseling differ from one group of personality traits to another?
To verify these tasks, a survey was performed targeting students in their first year of a high school located in Asan, and to judge their personality, IPIP(International Personality Item Pool) was used. To measure the expectation for counseling, EAC(Expectations about Counseling Questionnaire) was distributed. Grouping by personality types was done through the way of Cluster analysis, and MANOVA(multivariate analysis of variance) was engaged to compare the expectation for counseling of each cluster.
The results indicate that there are four clusters of the clients that display distinct difference according to their personality traits(neuroticism, extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness). Each cluster shows meaningful differences in all dependent variables to expectation for counseling(client attitudes and behaviors, counselor attitudes and behaviors, counselor characteristics, characteristics of process, quality of outcome), implying that the interaction of personality traits do induce variation of the expectation for counseling.
