This study is organized to recognize how much the female marriage immigrants feel lonely mentally and socially, and how much they satisfy with their marriage, during their adaptation period after they come to Korea. This is also purposed to understand the effects of these variables on their satisfaction of lives. The main research target is the group of the female marriage immigrants, who are involved in the education program or the club activities of the family centre in Daegu metropolitan city, Geochang-gun, Hapcheon-gun and Hamyang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The questionnaires are prepared in 4 different languages, such as Korean, English, Chinese and Vietnamese, for the people who are not confident with speaking Korean. If the person can understand Korean, however, the questionnaires was used only in Korean. The research was carried out for 4 weeks between August 04, 2008 and August 29, 2008. 150 people responded to the survey, but only 124 survey papers were returned, and out of these papers 122 papers were finally identified as the main resource of this research. Firstly, the SPSS 12.0 statistic programme for Window were used for Coding and error checking of the resources in this research, and then lots of analysis, such as frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, Anova, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis were done. Secondly, frequency analysis and descriptive analysis were used to understand the socio-populational type of the surveyed people. Thirdly, one-way Anova was done for identifying the difference between variables, and for determining the relationship between these variables Correlation analysis was used in this research. Lastly, Simple regression analysis and Multiple regression analysis was done in this research to identify the effect of the independent variables on the dependant variables, the satisfaction of their lives. These are the results of this research.
Firstly, as we analyze the variables from the socio-populational viewpoint, the results are distributed from the minimum age of 20 to the group of aged older than 40, and the average age is 29.26. Especially, the group of aged older than 40, which is 5.08, has higher score of life satisfaction than the group of aged between 20 to 30. According to the education difference, the people who had higher education, had higher score of 3.60 than the people who had lower education. However, the results show that the wealth difference does not affect the female marriage immigrants' loneliness, marrage satisfaction and life satisfaction. According to the marriage reason difference, people who had reasons, such as 'the suggestion from family','loving husband' and 'religion' has higher marrage satisfaction than the people who married because of 'the financial support'. Especially, these people has scored the highest loneliness of 80.11. And people who married because of 'the financial support' has lower score of life satisfaction than other reasons such as 'to live in Korea', 'to get job in Korea' 'the suggestion from family', 'loving husband' and 'religion'.
Secondly, as we analyze the relationship between the female marriage immigrants' loneliness and the marriage satisfaction with the satisfaction of life, the age has the positive relationship with the period of marriage and education level, and the period of marriage has positive relationship with age and the language level. Also the education level is related positively with age, language level, the satisfaction of marriage and life, and the wealth level is positively related with age, period of marriage, education level, loneliness, and the satisfaction of marriage and life. However, the language level is negative to the loneliness while it also has positive relationship with the period of marriage and the education level.
Overall, the female marriage immigrants' loneliness and their marriage satisfaction has significant effect on their satisfaction of life.
