웹기반 PBL을 통한 영어쓰기 과제활동이 쓰기 학습태도에 미치는 영향 = Effect of Writing Task using Web-based PBL on the Middle School Students' Writing Attitude

국문 초록 (Abstract)

7차 개정 영어교육과정의 특징은 쓰기와 말하기의 표현기능을 강조하고 있다. 그러나 학교현장에서 영어 쓰기 지도의 경우 수행평가에 일부 도입되는 경우를 제외하고는 거의 활성화 되어있지를 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 영어쓰기의 활성화를 위하여 웹기반 문제중심 학습사이트 설계를 통하여 영어쓰기 과제를 문제해결중심으로 해결하기 위하여 그룹 활동 중심으로 최초 과제를 올리면 다른 조에서 올려진 과제에 대하여 리플을 통하여 과제내용을 수정하는 과정을 거치면서 영어쓰기 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 4차에 걸친 영어쓰기 과제를 적용하면서, 실험집단과 비교집단에 대해서 사전검사로 동질성 검사를 실시하였고 사후검사로 사전검사와 동일한 학습태도검사를 t-검증으로 실시하였으며, 실험집단의 경우 사후 심화설문 조사를 실시하여 만족도를 알아보았다. 그 결과로 웹기반 문제 중심학습을 통한 영어쓰기 과제활동이 영어 쓰기 학습태도에 긍정적인 효과가 있음이 검증되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The ultimate goal of English education today is to develop learners' communication competence that includes the effective use of both oral and written skills ,as shown in English education of the 7th reformed middle school's curriculum. However, it is true that writing skill used to be considered as an extension of grammar exercise due to the Korean SAT or the influence of Structural linguistics. So, writing activities are rarely done in English class except for the English performance test in the most schools. Thus, it is important to induce writing activities within the class. Unlike speaking, listening and reading skills, writing skill needs much time in order to reach a satisfactory goal. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce some strategic and motivative writing class model so as to improve the attitude and ability of writing in English.
The main purpose of this study is to investigate effects of Korean students' writing attitude through web-assisted PBL(Problem Based Learning). The experiment was conducted for 4 months with 70 students.
Unlike the experimental group, the control group had studied writing by using the textbook or a worksheet in the classroom. The result showed that the experimental group had more positive attitudes toward learning English than the control group , and their English writing skill improved than before.
In addition to that, they were eager to read and write more of their own textbook and other materials in English. It indicates that the writing task through web assisted PBL(problem-based learning) affects students' learning attitude positively and can cultivate students' good learning attitudes. However, the study of the writing task through web assisted PBL(Problem Based Learning) has been taken in the limited situation. Further empirical research is needed to investigate the effect of the study regarding the students's learning attitudes through PBL.
