The purpose of this research examines the effect of the Balanced Art Education Program on a young children's Creativity and Aesthetic Response using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales as sample, 64 five-year-old kindergartner of a S kindergarten in ulsan city. The period of the test was given 8 times from 9. 22. to 10. 17. 2008 during 4 weeks and during the period, two group have experimental group in the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales, comparative group in general kindergarten education program. But two group were applied to the same Creativity TTCT: Korean (Torrance Test of Creative Thinking(1990): A, B type translated by Kim(2002)) and Aesthetic Response (A Manual for Coding Descriptions, Interpretations, and Evaluations of Visual Art Forms). Two group is considered as a homogeneous group due to pre-test having no different meaning of them. All data, which was collected after pre-test and post-test, were analyzed by t-test using the SPSS 11.5 program.
The results of this study are as follows:
First, in order to find out that the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected on a young children's creativity, this study was applied to the A-type, the B-type using the Torrance's creativity test.
It was exhibited that there was some difference between experimental group's young children and comparative group, as a result of creativity total score (t=-5.55, p<.001). Therefore, the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected on a young children's creativity.
Second, by analysis of the results that the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy is affected on a young children's Aesthetic Response, there was some difference in both abstractness of titles (t=-6.51, p<.001) and elaboration (t=-4.05, p<.001). There was some difference in both a special viewpoint (t=-3.03, p<.005) and a dream (t=-4.60, p<.001) from creativity-strong point. This is the reason that the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected on a young children's a special viewpoint and a dream from an abstract-property, an accuracy, and a creativity-strong point.
Third, in order to find out the fact that the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected on a young children's Aesthetic Response, as result of test with Aesthetic Response Measure. There was a difference of result (t=-11.79, p<.001) of the Aesthetic Response of experimental group's young children and comparative group. Therefore, the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected on a young children's Aesthetic Response.
Fourth, there were some differences on material (t=-21.56, p<.001), method (t=-11.24, p<.001), color of the sensitivity attribute (t=-4.41, p<.001), line (t=-2.95, p<.05), shape (t=-7.38, p<.001), light(t=-3.22, p<.01), composition of the surface attribute(t=-5.41, p<.001), factor of the surface statement(t=-3.91, p<.001), and shape of the jointed attribute(t=-5.93, p<.001)
Therefore, the Balanced Art Education Program using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales is affected to subfactor of three factors ,which are visible information ( material, method, color, line, shape, light), surface attribute (statement, composition) the meaning of context (shape).
This study show that the Balanced Art Education Program on the young children's Creativity and Aesthetic Response using Korean Traditional Fairy Tales has an educational meaning as an action of teaching in a kindergarten and it is affected to a young children's Creativity and Aesthetic Response.
