어머니의 낙관성과 양육태도와 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계 = The relationship between the mother's optimism and parenting behavior and the social competence in early childhood

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 최근 주목 받고 있는 긍정심리학적 관점에서 어머니의 낙관적 사고가 어머니의 양육태도에 어떤 영향을 미치고 유아가 사회적으로 유능한 인간으로 성장하는데 필요한 사회적 능력과 관련변인과의 관계를 알아봄으로써 바람직한 부모의 양육태도와 유아와의 올바른 관계형성에 효율적인 방향을 제시하고 유아교육과 부모교육 분야에서 낙관성 관련 연구에 유용한 정보를 제공하는데 연구의 목적이 있다.

이와 같은 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
1. 어머니의 낙관성과 어머니의 양육태도와의 관계는 어떠한가?
2. 어머니의 낙관성이 어머니의 양육태도에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
3. 어머니의 낙관성과 어머니의 양육태도와 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계는 어떠한가?

본 연구의 대상은 경기도에 소재한 유치원에 재원중인 만 4세와 만 5세 유아와 어머니 154명이였다. 어머니의 낙관성을 측정하기 위한 연구도구는 Seligman의 낙관성 척도 ASQ(Attributional Style Questionnaire)를 박노용과 김혜성(1996)이 번안한 것을 수정⋅보완하여 사용하였고, 어머니의 양육태도를 측정하기 위해 Crease, Clark과 Pease의 IOWA 부모양육척도(IPBI: Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Mother form)을 홍계옥(1995)이 번안하여 우리문화에 맞게 수정⋅보완한 것을 사용하였다. 유아의 사회적 능력을 측정하기 위해서는 LaFreniere와 Dumas의 Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation(SCBE)을 안라리(2005)가 번안한 검사 도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석을 위해 SPSS WIN 15.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계, 적률상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다.

본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어머니의 낙관성과 어머니의 양육태도는 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 어머니의 낙관성 하위요인별로 어머니의 양육태도와의 관계를 세부적으로 살펴보면, 낙관성의 확산성이 양육태도의 반응성, 애정성, 그리고 한계설정과 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났고 양육태도의 합리적 지도와는 통계적으로 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 어머니의 낙관성이 어머니의 양육태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 회귀분석결과 낙관성의 확산성이 어머니의 양육태도의 합리적 지도를 제외하고 한계설정, 애정성, 그리고 반응성에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다.
셋째, 어머니의 양육태도와 유아의 사회적 능력은 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 세부적으로 살펴보면 어머니의 양육태도의 하위 요인 합리적 지도가 유아의 사회적 능력의 하위 요인 친사회적 행동과 유의한 상관이 나타났다. 반면 어머니의 낙관성과 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관련성을 살펴본 결과, 어머니의 낙관성과 유아의 사회적 능력 간에는 유의한 관련성이 나타나지 않았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research studies how the optimism of mother and mother’s parenting behavior are related to the social competence in early childhood. To conduct the research, this study investigates how the optimism and the parenting behavior of mother are related and how the optimism influences the parenting behavior. In addition, the study examines whether the parenting behavior and the optimism of mother have an effect on the children’s social competence. The relationship between the parenting behavior of mother and the children’s social competence is also studied.
To carry out this study, the research surveys 154 children aged 4 and 5 years, and their mothers. The ASQ (Attributional Style Questionnaire) measures the optimistic view of mother and IPBI(Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Mother form) measures mother's parenting attitude. The social competence in early childhood is assessed by the SCBE(Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation). Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple regressions using the SPSS WIN 15.0 program analyze the surveyed data.
The research concludes that there is a significant correlation between the optimism and the parenting behavior of mother. Detailed study also concludes that the pervasiveness among optimism factors has a significant effect on the parenting behavior of limit setting, responsiveness, involvement and intimacy. Moreover, mother's parenting behavior shows a strong relationship to the social competence in early childhood. The research shows that the mother’s reasoning guidance is closely related to the children’s prosocial behavior. However, there is no statistically meaningful relationship between the optimism of mother and the social competence in early childhood.
