This study aims analyzing and comparing of teacher’s satisfactory rate depend upon their gender, career and education on various special school such as blind, deaf, mentally, physically or emotionally challenged.
The questionnaire this study used is “Teacher’s job satisfaction questionnaire : TJSQ” provided by No Jong Hui(2001).
Mathematical and statistic data analysis were done by ANOVA(Analysis of variance) and t-verification with variation level of p < .05, p < .01.
Followings are the result of this research based on above methods.
First, teacher’s satisfactory rate on different special schools shows differently depends upon their self development, innovation, camaraderie and professionalism.
In self development fact, teachers of ECS(emotionally challenged school) show higher satisfactory rate than teachers of MPCS(mentally & physically challenged school), and in innovation fact, teachers of BS(blind school) and DS(deaf school) show higher rate than MPCS.
Also in camaraderie fact, teachers of BS, DS and MPCS show higher rate than teachers of ECS.
In professionalism fact, the satisfactory rate of teachers of DS is higher than teachers of ECS.
Second, this study found no relation between gender and satisfactory rate on any special school. However, female teachers of BS show higher satisfactory rate than male, and male teachers of MPCS have higher rate than female in innovation fact.
Third, teachers of all special school by different careers shows different satisfactory rate in innovation as well as camaraderie.
In innovation fact, teachers of career less than 5 years have higher satisfactory rate than those of career more than 21 years, and in camaraderie fact, teachers of career less than 5years and more than 21 years show higher rate than those of career between 11 to 15 years.
Fourth, in all special school, teachers who have graduate degree show higher rate than those who have only bachelors’ degree in innovation and self development facts, however, teachers of bachelors’ degree have higher rate than those of masters’ degree in camaraderie and responsibility facts.
In responsibility fact, teachers of bachelors’ degree have higher rate than those of graduate degree in blind school.
In physically challenged school, teachers of masters’ degree show higher satisfactory rate than those who have only bachelors’ degree in innovation fact.
In emotionally challenged school, teachers of masters’ degree have higher rate than those who have bachelor’s degree in autonomy fact, but, teachers of bachelors’ degree show higher rate than those of masters’ degree in professionalism fact.
This research raises following suggestions.
The reason different satisfactory rate among all teachers in different school, this study believes, caused by different kind of handicap.
Therefore, new plan for higher satisfactory rate should be established depend upon the types of handicap.
Second, although gender has no relationship with satisfactory rate, because the study shows that female teachers have higher rate than male in BS, and male teachers show higher rate than female in innovation fact, this research suggests finding what effects gender in satisfactory rate fact.
Third, the fact that less career teachers have higher satisfactory rate than career teachers is reflection of the enthusiasm of new anticipation by less career teachers. However, this study alone can’t conclude career teachers are less innovative than less career teachers.
Fourth, in all special school, the fact teachers of masters’ hold higher satisfactory rate than teachers of bachelors’ in self development and innovation facts is the reflection of pride and anticipation of those who holds masters’ degree.
This study provides basic analysis as well as comparison of teacher’s satisfactory rate by their gender, career and education level in all special school, as a data of stepping stone for future study.
