유아의 언어능력 및 사회성이 유치원 적응에 미치는 영향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

유아교육기관은 유아가 가정을 떠나서 최초로 접하게 되는 낯선 환경으로서 이러한 기관에서의 적응은 실질적으로 유아의 성장과 발달에 직·간접적으로 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 따라서 유아교육기관에서의 유아의 언어능력과 사회성 요인들이 유아들의 유치원 적응에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것은 중요한 의의가 있다.
본 연구에서는 유치원의 유아를 대상으로 유아의 사회성 향상을 위한 토대로서 유아의 언어능력 및 사회성의 중요성을 확인하였고, 각 변수의 유아의 유치원 적응에 대한 영향과 변수간의 상관관계 및 복합영향을 분석·요약하였다. 본 연구의 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
연구문제 1) 유아의 언어능력수준에 따라 유치원 적응에는 차이가 있는가?
연구문제 2) 유아의 사회성수준에 따라 유치원 적응에는 차이가 있는가?
연구문제 3) 유아의 언어능력과 사회성, 유치원 적응간의 상관은 어떠한가?
연구문제 4) 유아의 언어능력과 사회성이 유아의 유치원 적응에 미치는 상대적 영향력은 어떠한가?
본 연구의 면접 및 설문조사는 2008년 9월 말부터 일주일 동안 부산지역에 소재한 유치원을 연구자가 직접 방문하여 만 4~5세 유아 총 100명을 중심으로 언어능력검사를 실시하였고, 사회성검사 및 유치원 적응검사는 유치원 교사에게 의뢰하여 조사하였다. 그러나 이 가운데 10명의 자료는 오류로 인하여 제외되었다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS 14.0 프로그램을 이용하여 통계 처리하였는데 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, 신뢰계수, 일원변량분석, Pearson의 적률 상관계수, 중다회귀분석 등을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 유아의 언어능력 수준에 따라 유치원 적응에 차이가 있는가를 알아본 결과, 유아의 언어능력 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 확인할 수 있으며, 언어능력 수준이 높은 집단일수록 유치원 적응 수준 역시 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 유아의 적응 수준 하위 영역 중 친사회성과 또래간의 적응, 그리고 자아상태에서 유의미한 결과가 도출되었다.
둘째, 유아의 사회성 수준에 따라 유치원 적응에 차이가 있는가를 알아보기 위해 유아의 사회성 수준을 상, 중, 하로 구분한 후 통계분석을 실시한 결과, 유아의 사회성 수준과 유치원 적응 수준은 매우 밀접한 관계가 있었다.
셋째, 유아의 언어능력과 사회성, 유치원 적응간의 상관관계를 알아본 결과, 언어능력, 사회성 관련 전체 및 하위요인은 유치원 적응 척도 전체 및 하위요인과 어느 정도의 상관을 나타내고 있었으며, 특히 언어이해력과 사회적응성 요인은 유아들의 유치원 적응에 중요한 요인이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
넷째, 유아의 언어능력 및 사회성이 유아의 유치원 적응에 미치는 상대적인 영향을 알아본 결과, 최종적으로 언어능력의 하위요인인 언어이해력과 사회성의 전체 하위요인인 친밀성, 표현성, 활동성, 적응성이 유치원 적응을 가장 잘 설명해 주는 독립변인으로 나타났으며, 이들 요인은 유치원 적응에 대해 75% 정도의 영향력을 나타내고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to exam the influence of children's language ability and the development of sociality upon the children's adjustment to preschool. It will see how their influence of children's language ability and the development of sociality impact the children's adjustment to preschool, and understands the individual factor by doing so.
For the purpose, the following research questions were established :
1) Is there any significant differences between the children's language ability and the adjustment to preschool?
2) Is there any significant differences between the development of sociality and the adjustment to preschool?
3) Is there any correlation among the children's language ability, the development of sociality and the adjustment to preschool?
4) How much of 5years old children's adjustment to preschool are explained by their language ability and the development of sociality?
We researched 100 5years old preschool children who lives in Pusan. Research was taken from the end of September for 1 week. Total number of 100 surveys were given. The researcher visited the preschool for the research of children's language ability and the teacher of preschool investigated the development of sociality and the children's adjustment.
Data analyses were carried out using SPSS 14.0, which included Frequencies, Cronbach's α, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression.
The results of this study were at follows :
First, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the children's language ability and the adjustment to preschool. Especially, the sociality. the adjustment among peers and self-status was affected by the children's language ability.
Second, there was a significant positive correlation between the development of sociality and the adjustment to preschool. In order to investigate this question, the development of sociality was divided into 3 level, high, middle and low, and then analysis the date.
Third, there are some correlations among the children's language ability, the development of sociality and the adjustment to preschool, especially it appeared that among the factor of language comprehension ability and the social adjustment has strong correlations with the children's adjustment to preschool.
Forth, 75% of preschool children's adjustment appeared to be influenced by comprehension from language ability and the entire sub-factors of the development of sociality. Accordingly, in order to 5years old children to well adapt themselves to preschool, their relationships with teacher and peers, language comprehension abilities and the entire sub-factors of the development of sociality should be developed well.
