농아인의 정보접근이 자립에 미치는 영향 = Effect on the Self-reliance according to the Information Accessibility of the Deaf

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 농아인들의 개인적 특성, 생활환경적 특성, 의사소통 유형이 정보접근을 매개로 하여 농아인들의 자립에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 밝히려는 데에 목적을 둔다. 그래서 이를 근간으로 농아인들의 자립과 사회통합을 유도할 수 있는 사회복지적 개입방안을 제시하는 것이다.
이를 위해서 본 논문은 농아인의 정보접근에 대해 고찰하고, 자립의 지표로서 사회적 자립, 심리적 자립, 자립의지, 경제적 자립으로 나누어 각종 자료 및 선행연구를 참조하여 설문지를 구성하였다.
구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과를 연구문제에 따라 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 농아인들의 정보접근의 격차는 남녀 차이는 보이지 않았으나 연령과 학력에 따라 유의한 차이가 나는 것으로 나타났으며, 연령이 많을수록 정보접근은 낮아졌으며, 반대로 학력이 높을수록 정보접근은 높게 나타났다.
둘째, 농아인들의 자립은 전반적으로 보통으로 나타났다. 그리고 심리적 자립, 자립의지와 일반적 특성과의 관계에서는 정보접근과 마찬가지로 연령과 학력에 따라서 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
셋째, 농아인들의 정보접근과 일반적 특성 사이 관계에서 연령, 학력, 교육형태, 보청기 착용유무에 대하여 서로 연관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그 중에서 학력, 교육형태, 보청기 착용 유무와 관련하여 정적인 상관관계가 나타났고, 연령에 대해서는 부적인 관계가 나타났다. 그러나 회귀분석 결과 연령과는 부적인 관계가 나타났고, 학력과는 정적인 관계가 나타났다.
넷째, 농아인들의 정보접근에 미치는 변수들을 알아보기 위하여 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 연령과 물려받은 재산 금액은 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 학력, 월수입, 보청기 착용 유무, 의사소통, 장애 시기는 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 정보접근이 전체 자립도에 영향을 미치는가를 알아보기 위해 선형회귀분석을 실시한 결과 양의 관계가 나타났다.
이러한 연구를 통해 알게 된 사회복지적 함의는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 현재 나타나고 있는 정보격차에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위한 효과적인 프로그램의 개발이 필요할 것이다. 한 예로 성인 농아인들에게 평생교육프로그램이나 성인프로그램을 통하여 의사소통과 정보접근성을 향상시킬 필요성이 있을 것이다.
둘째, 농아인들의 자립이라는 것은 단순하게 경제적 자립만을 의미하지 않는다. 이에 자립을 지원하기 위해서는 종합적이고 체계적인 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 전달체계를 형성하는 것이 기본적으로 이루어져야 한다고 생각한다.
셋째, 지역 내의 방송네트워크나 인터넷을 통한 정보를 쉽게 접근할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 농아인 스스로 정보의 전달과 정보의 습득에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 유도해야 한다.
넷째, 농아인의 정보접근에 따른 자립에 미치는 영향과 관련하여 텔레비전의 수화방송이나 자막방송에 대한 정보접근과, 다른 언론매체를 통한 정보접근에 대한 효과성에 대한 비교 연구가 수반되어야 할 것이다.
다섯째, 농아인들의 정보접근에 대한 정확한 실태파악이 필요하므로, 이에 필요한 표준화된 조사 도구와 문제의 심각도를 판단할 객관적 기준이 마련될 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to understand how personal traits, living environment, and communication affect the Self-reliance of the deaf under the idea of accessing to information. Based on this goal, we can suggest the ways to adjust social welfare which induce Self-reliance of the deaf and the social integration.
To achieve this, I composed survey regarding social Self-reliance, emotional Self-reliance, the will for Self-reliance, and economic Self-reliance as the indexes for Self-reliance, after reading several resources and preceding researches, contemplating the information access of deaf people.
According to the information that I collected with the structured survey, the analyzed result that I have is this:
First, I cannot see the gap between men and women regarding access to information, but there is a significant gap according to age and educational level; older people have lower rate of accessing information and people received higher education have higher chance to access information.
Second, Self-reliance of the deaf is in normal level. Besides, when it comes to the will for Self-reliance, there is also the significant difference according to age and educational level.
Third, age, education level, form of education, and use of hearing aid are related to the level of access to information. Education level, form of education, and use of hearing aid are in direct correlation, and age is in inverse correlation. However, according to the result from the analysis, age is in inverse correlation, and education level is in direct correlation.
Fourth, the result from the analysis to understand the information access of the deaf, age and amount of legacy are in inverse correlation, and the level of education, monthly income, and use of hearing aid, communication, and starting age of disabilities are in direct correlation.
Finally, I can see the direct correlation according to the analysis to find the relation between the overall Self-reliance and access to information.
According to this research, I arrive at this implication regarding social welfare:
First, we need to develop efficient program to relieve the problem about the information gap. For example, we need to increases the communication and information access by adult deaf people with lifelong or adult programs.
Second, the Self-reliance of the deaf does not only mean economic Self-reliance. Therefore, we should firstly establish the system for transmission and comprehensive and organized services to support their Self-reliance.
Third, deaf people should be able to access information by using local broadcast network or the internet. Moreover, we should induce them to actively participate in the transmission and acquisition of information.
Fourth, we also need to research the finger language broadcasting on television and the efficiency of information access by different media regarding the Self-reliance of deaf people based on the information access.
Finally, we need to establish the standardized research tools and objective criteria to measure the severity because we need to know accurate condition of the information access of deaf people.
