한국어 교육용 학술어 선정과 공기관계 연구 : 명사 분포를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 말뭉치(corpus)를 바탕으로 학술어의 각 학문 분야별 분포양상을 비교·분석하여 고급 한국어 학습자를 위한 학술어 목록(Academic Vocabulary List)을 작성하고 이들의 공기관계를 살펴봄으로써 어휘교육에서 읽기와 쓰기교육의 기초 자료를 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 어휘의 실제 사용 예를 보여주는 말뭉치(corpus)를 구축하고 형태소 분석을 통해 얻어진 일반명사를 위주로 각 학문분야별 출현분포와 공기관계를 말뭉치 중심으로 연구한다.학술어는 대표적인 제 2차 어휘로서 고급 정신기능이나 학술 전문분야의 논의전개와 연구흐름 등을 나타내며 학술 활동을 하기 위한 기본어휘로써 제 1차 어휘와는 다르게 의도적, 선택적으로 교육되고 학습되어야 하는 교육적 필요성이 큰 어휘이다.따라서 본고에서는 학술어를 ‘학술활동을 목적으로 하는 교육용 기본어휘’로 보고 말뭉치 분석을 통해 객관적 방법으로 어휘를 선정하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 실제 학술텍스트로 구성된 약 250어절의 <초록말뭉치>를 구축하고 이를 형태소 분석하여 명사어휘를 추출한 뒤 각 영역별 분포양상과 어휘의 성격(기본어휘, 특정분야의 전문어 제외)을 고려하여 1차 학술어 선정대상을 선별하였다. 이중 기존의 고급 학습자를 위한 어휘목록과 비교하여 공통되는 학술어 380개를 선정하고 <초록말뭉치>에서 학술어 성격을 가진 어휘 별도로 435개를 선정하여 모두 815개의 학술어를 선정하였다. 또한 선정된 어휘에 대해 일정한 빈도구간별로 나누어 17개 학술어에 대하여 <초록말뭉치>에서 나타난 각 영역별 분포양상과 단어족 빈도, 유의미한 공기관계 어휘들을 살펴보았다.제 1장에서는 학술어가 가지는 어휘적 특성과 본고의 목적을 제시하고 이와 관련한 기존의 연구들을 고찰하였다.제 2장에서는 학술어의 이론적 개념과 공기관계의 기본적인 범위에 대해서 논하였다. 학술어는 일종의 고급 한국어 학습자를 위한 교육용 어휘로 분류될 수 있으므로 기존에 이루어진 교육용 어휘 선정 연구들을 살펴보고 이것들의 연구성과들을 고찰한다. 공기관계 또한 연어라는 큰 개념 안에서 연구자에 따라 정의하고 있는 방식에 차이가 있으므로 본고에서 취하고자 하는 연어, 엄밀히 말해 공기관계에 대한 개념을 정확히 할 필요가 있기 때문이다.제 3장에서는 본 논문에서 이용한 자료의 소개와 <초록말뭉치> 구축과정 및 구축결과에 대해 설명하였다. <초록말뭉치>는 1988년 이후 최근 2007년까지 발표된 학위논문에서 ‘초록’만을 발췌한 약 250만 어절의 텍스트 원시말뭉치다. 현재까지 언어연구에서 흔히 쓰이는 분석도구들을 최대한 활용하는 범위에서 필요에 따라 연구자가 python프로그램 언어를 이용해 자료를 분석하였고 <21세기 세종계획>의 지능형 형태소 분석기의 오류에 의한 오차는 본고의 한계로 지적될 수 있다. <초록말뭉치>의 객관적 자료분석과 기존 학술어 목록과 비교하는 절충적 방식을 이용하여 815개의 학술어를 선정하였다.제 4장에서는 3장에서 선정된 연구대상 어휘들을 대상으로 학술텍스트에서 나타내고 있는 어휘분포와 특성에 대해 고찰하였다. 먼저 한국어 대표적 사전인 『연세한국어사전(1998)』과 『표준국어대사전(1999)』에서의 사전적 뜻풀이를 살펴보고 해당 학술어를 어기로 하는 단어족 빈도와 통계적으로 유의미한 관계의 공기어절들을 살펴봄으로써 학술텍스트에서의 학술어의 분포양상에 대해서 구체적으로 기술하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper has the purpose to provide the fundamental analysis of the academic vocabulary for the advanced learners of Korean by making academic vocabulary lists with the words used in scholarly articles and papers and defining the co-occurrence of each words. Furthermore, we can expect this kind of analysis is able to contribute to the improvement of the linguistics itself and to the education of students in reading and writing.For the purpose, this paper is focusing on the construction of the corpus in the practical usages and the analysis the general terms from the word-class tagging to figure out the frequency and the co-occurrence.The academic vocabulary is used in lots of theoretical paper as more professional glossary to develop a hypothetical idea and extend the discussion. From this point of view, some professional researchers are insisting that it is necessary to make a well organized plan to instruct the academic vocabulary.However, the results of previous analyses and policies are not satisfactory for the education and even the existing concept of academic vocabulary is not determined firmly yet.Thus the start of this paper is to establish the definition of the academic vocabulary as 'the glossary used in the academic analysis' which is need to be educated to the existing and perspective researchers.Of course, for this aim, this paper gives lots of space to building the lists of the word which is supposed to be an academic vocabulary. As a part of the analysis, the process has been planed to collect academic texts for the <Abstract_Corpus> and to extract general nouns by a specified method, the word-class tagging.And then it needed to select 815 words as considering the frequency and the characteristic for the original purpose. The paper is organized as following.In the first section, the purpose of this paper is provided and the differences from the previous researches are emphasized by reviewing existing papers. And then section 2, deals with the definition and the meaningful role of the academic vocabulary and section 3, explains the process of the academic vocabulary list and main results in building the <Abstract_Corpus>. In section 4, the analysis provides the lexicographic definition and examines the frequency and the co-occurrence of the word-family of the academic vocabulary selected in the previous section. Section 5, concludes the discussion about needs for the educations of the academic vocabulary.
