Recently, many intragroup conflict researchers divide two types of conflict. It is task conflict and relationship conflict. Task conflict is an awareness of differences in ideas, opinions, and working style pertaining to a task. Also, it is usually associated with positive effects in group. On the other hand, relationship conflict is an awareness of differences in interpersonal characters and values. So, it is usually associated with negative effects in group. According to this viewpoint, this study proposes two things.
In study 1, it was examined the impact of intragroup trust, promotive interdependence, and individualism on the transformation of task conflict into relationship conflict.
In study 2, it was examined job satisfaction and performance on intragroup conflict. Survey questionnaire method was used and 550 people participated in the survey.
The results of study 1 showed significant effect of moderating variables on intragroup trust and promotive interdependence. However, individualism did not have significant effect of moderating variable on relationship between task and relationship conflict. The results of study 2 showed only significant on job satisfaction.
In conclusion, implication and limitation of the study were fully discussed.
