진로교육 프로그램이 중학생의 자아발견 향상과 진로탐색에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Effects of Career Education Programs on the Self-Development and Career Exploration of Middle School Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 우리는 과거 어느 사회보다도 변화의 속도가 빠르고, 변화의 폭이 훨씬 넓은 사회 속에서 살아가고 있다. 세습적 성격이 강하고 직업선택의 폭이 넓지 않았던 과거와는 달리, 현대사회의 직업 세계는 개인의 선택을 중요시 하면서, 매우 세분화되고 다양화 되었다. 이러한 시대 흐름 속에서 현대인들은 자신에게 맞는 직업을 선택하고, 이를 통한 자아실현을 소망하고 있다. 다양한 삶의 방식들 속에서 보람과 긍지를 느끼기 위해서는 자신에게 맞는 직업을 선택 하는 것이 중요하고 이러한 직업선택을 위해서는 장기간에 걸친, 계속적인 직업탐색이 필요하다.
중학생 시절에 진로교육은 진로탐색에 있다. 학생들은 장래 희망란에 자신이 원하는 직업을 선택하면서도 역설적으로 자신의 적성과 성격, 흥미, 가치관 등에 대한 충분한 이해 없이 선택하는 경우가 많다. 요즈음에는 어떠한 직업들이 있고, 미래의 유망한 직업은 무엇이 있는지, 각각의 직업들이 지니고 있는 가치관은 어떤 것인지, 과연 자신에게 알맞는 직업인지에 대한 탐색의 기회를 거의 가지지 못하고 있다. 입시위주의 교육 환경 속에서 특정 직업에 대한 차별 의식까지 겹쳐 성적순에 의한 진로 선택이 이루어지고 있는 것이 현실이다. 진로 탐색은 비단 개인 삶에만 영향을 미치는 것이 아니라 국가 사회적인 측면에서도 매우 큰 의미를 지니고 있다. 개인이 평생 살아가야 할 사회 속에서 보다 행복한 삶을 영위하기 위해서는 자신에게 맞는 직업을 선정하는 것이 중요하고, 이를 위하여 청소년기부터 구체적인 진로탐색 노력이 절실히 필요하다.
본 연구는 2004년 충청북도교육과학연구원에서 시행되었던 내용을 기초 자료로 참조하여, 진로교육 프로그램이 중학생의 자아발견 향상과 진로탐색에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 과제를 선정하고 시행하였다. 그리고 연구결과를 설문조사를 통하여 실증적으로 분석·확인하고, 향후 발전적 방향을 제시하고자 하는 데 목적이 있다.
연구결과 중학교에서 실시한 진로교육프로그램이 학생의 자아발견 향상과 진로탐색에 미치는 영향은 다음과 같은 효과가 있었다.
첫째, 진로교육프로그램 적용은 학생들에게 체계적인 진로교육을 가능하게 했다.
둘째, 자신의 적성, 흥미, 성격, 가치관, 신체적 조건 등에 대한 인식도가 높아져 자아를 발견하게 됨으로써 자기실현 목표 설정이 가능하여졌으며 자신에게 맞는 진로를 탐색하는데 도움이 되었다.
셋째, 일의 세계와 학과에 대한 다양한 정보를 습득하여 자신에게 맞는 장래 희망직업과 학과를 탐색한 학생이 증가하였다.
넷째, 일에 대한 태도 및 바람직한 직업관에 대하여 잘 알게 되어 일에 대한 바람직한 방향으로 의식변화가 증가하였다.
다섯째, 현장체험을 통한 교육으로 진로탐색 능력이 신장되었으며 일에 대한 중요성을 알게 되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

These days we are living in a progressive society that has a faster rate of change than any in the past. Unlike past times where hereditary personality was strong and the width of career selection was not wide, the career world of modern society is becoming more serious as an individual's selection is becoming so specialized and diversified. Because career choice is so important, middle school students need to prepare earlier for their career.
In middle school, there is career education in a career exploration course. Although students select their career which they want by themselves in future-job column in school record, they tend to make selections without enough aptitude, personality, or interests. There are hardly any opportunities for career exploration nowadays, so they are not able to find promising careers and do not understand values about careers and correct career exploration. It is, in actuality, that career selection by the rank of written test is consistent in our education system which people have discriminative consciousness of specific careers. Career exploration does not only influence an individual's life, but also society. It is important that we should recognize whether any career is suitable or not in an adolescent period.
This research confirms a study by finding actual proof analysis through a survey. The purpose of study is to realize career exploration through self-development in middle school students. The study is based on data of the Chung Cheong Buk-Do Education and Science Research Institute in 2004. As the results show, here are the following effects that middle school students have improved self-development and career exploration in five steps.
First, the application of career education program enlarges systematic career education. Second, the program helps students to explore suitable careers and to set goals of self-realization by finding degrees of awareness about their aptitude, interest, personality, sense of values, physical condition etc. Third, there are many students who learn about the working world and school subjects and explore future career and school subjects. Fourth, the change of consciousness about career increases for desirable direction by knowing about attitudes about work and desirable occupational consciousness. Fifth, middle students improve the ability of career exploration and know the importance about work which was extended by field education.
