Taekwondo, which is a Korean national sport, was adopted as an official event of the national sports festival in 1962, and then as an official Olympic event in Sydney Olympic in 2000. Now with 189 countries as the members and more than 0.1 billion trainees around the world, Taekwondo became a national sport and cultural content representing Korea. Teaching of Taekwondo elders in studios(dojang) contributed to this development a lot. As the population of Taekwondo trainees increased, the studios also increased currently up to the saturation point, and rather than founding new ones, existing studios that are well-capitalized and have excellent operation know-how are taking over other studios, which well indicates that studios that used to be managed in a small scale turn to corporations with professional administration process. Therefore, this study clarifies how the appreciation of masters, who are at the lowest level in Taekwondo studio system, regarding organization fairness affects work satisfaction and commitment in the organization so as to provide the basic data for the growth of Taekwondo studios which are being transformed to a type of corporation.
This study includes a survey conducted among Taekwondo studio masters in Seoul area from April 23 ~ May 17, 2007 with 240 questionnaires, 157 among which were collected and then those with insincere answers and too excessive errors to analyze were excluded. Total 134 questionnaires were examined in the end, and the result is as follows:
First, to clarify the differences among factors according to demographical characteristics, independent sampling T verification and one-way analysis of variance were conducted, and it turned out that there was not meaningful statistical difference among almost all factors.
Second, to analyze the correlation of factors, correlation analysis was conducted, and it turned out that most of the factors are highly correlated.
Third, to clarify the affect of organization justice on work satisfaction, organization commitment, and intention to transfer occupation, Simple Regression Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis were conducted, and it turned out that the factors are statistically correlated.
The comprehensive conclusion based on the result of this study is as follows: For masters, the Taekwondo studio managers, to settle issues whether there are enough consulting and opinion exchange with directors, turned out to have great influence on masters' satisfaction, affection, and intention to transfer occupation. As studios become as big and systematic as corporations, awareness of this organization justice will be increased. Thus, directors and chief masters, the higher class of Taekwondo studios should take forth efforts to develop creative programs as well as systematic organization management programs related to compensation, performance rating etc., which is the way to quickly adapt to ever changing structure of Taekwondo halls.
