In this study, I have classified the infants of age one to two years who formed secure or insecure attachment into experimental group and control group. I intended to examine the effects of adaptation program according to the attachment level of the infants by developing and applying the programs that can foster the enhancement of infants' attachments towards the teachers at the decisive period of attachment formation.
The subjects of this study are fifty children of age 24~37 months and their teachers from a day care center in Jin-Ju City.
Lee Young, Park Kyeong-Ja, Na Yu-Mi (1997)'s Korean version of attachment Q-set are used in the study and Jewsuwan, Luster, Kostelink(1992)'s PAQ (Preschool Adjustment Questionaire) translated and revised by Im Eun-Hye (2005) are used for measurement of infants' organization adaptability level.
Moreover, I revised and supplemented the tools used in 'The study on Effects of Group Theraplay for Enhancement of Infant's Attachment' by Kim Yoon-Kyeong (2005) and Program developed by Lee Won-Young, Lee Young-Ja, Park Chan-Ok for the infant adaptability program used in this study.
SPSS 12.0 program was used for processing the data and reliability analysis, correlation analysis, T-Test, and Repeated Measures ANOVA were used for analysis method.
The results of this are as follows.
First, the experimental group and control group did not show any difference in attachment security level by the program but insecure attachment infants showed difference in the attachment security grade after the program in comparison to the secure attachment infants. This result indicates that the adaptation program is more effective to the infants in the day care centers.
Second, the results of the research to identify the effects infant adaptation program have on infants' adaptive behavior showed that the overall adaptive behavior displayed significant difference by analyzing the subcategories of adaptive behavior by groups after the adaptation program was conducted. That is, the experimental group to which adaptation program was conducted showed higher behavior grade then the control group who did not go through the adaptation program. This result indicates that adaptation program does have effect on enhancement of adaptive behavior.
Especially among the subcategories of adaptive behavior, the overall adaptive behavior grade increased for the sociality, adaptation in the peer group, ego-state and adaptation in the daily routine after the program which shows that the program has different level of effects by the categories.
