Seventh education curriculum, revised to keep up-to-date with newly advanced society, has pursued the goal to train the students who will be eligible to initiate the new era. To realize these human beings, teaching method should be changed into different way with traditional way. As an alternative of this concern, cooperative learning stands out in relief as the subject of interesting recent music education. Cooperative learning is the learning method to reach the learning objective solving the given tasks together by inter acting with others toward the same object based on structured activities between and with in groups.
In the previous studies relating cooperative learning to music education, as an alternative way to improve music class and increase its effect, have affirmative expectation of the application of cooperative learning, and accordingly the studies in music class applying the cooperative learning have begun in earn estrecently. The reason is that 'Musicking' together could develop the quality of musical experience and creativity by making musical, linguistic, emotional and intellectual association through interaction and could provide a possibility for the growth as a cooperative and whole man who future society requires. However, the studies in music education applying the cooperative learning have been still limited to the domain of musical activity such as instrumental music and creation, and it is true that the fruitor the attempt of research on the understanding of concept, the basic element of music, is insufficient.
Therefore, this study has looked for the possibility of application of the model and structure of cooperative learning to the effective acquirement of music concept at the level of the sixth grade of elementary school. First of all, I designed the cooperative learning model of music concept, set it down as the large frame of teaching plan, and decided the activities for 7 musical concepts specified in the seventh music educational curriculum. And I designed teaching plans for cooperative learning of music concept selecting cooperative learning models and structures to construct the arranged activities effectively.
To make the cooperative learning for music concept successful, we should be all aware the essence, the element and the principle that the cooperative learning seek sand should continuously inquire into the applicable point to music concept learning in diversified sides. And teachers have to study and develop ceaselessly about full understanding of cooperative learning model, the development of variety learning data according to reconstruct textbook, the selection of contents of a textbook after the consideration of students, the security of wide learning space, the selection of various assessing methods, and a new teaching method which can be raised for adaptation to society of knowledge and information to gain the positive effect.
