This study lays its purpose on ascertaining the effect of female high school students' perceptions of and preference for instructional behaviors in physical education on their internal learning-motivations.
In order to attain this purpose, with a measurement tool of questionnaire, the researcher chose 250 female high school students in the 1st and 2nd grades in Seoul as the subjects of this study by accidental/convenience sampling.
For analyzing data, the researcher utilized statistical methods such as reliability analysis, frequency analysis, independent T-test, One-way ANOVA and multiple-regression analysis after inputting each case-data set using SPSS WIN 12.0 Version.
As a result of the analysis, the following conclusions have reached.
As a result of analysis on the effect of female high school students' perceptions of and preference for instructional behaviors in physical education on their internal motivations for learning:
1. Female high school students' perceptions of and preference for instructional behaviors in physical education have a negative effect on a sense of competence of internal motivations with a negative correlation, in order of the perception of punishment/control and reinforcement/encouragement.
2. The perception of punishment/control has the negative correlation with pleasure of internal motivations, while preference for reinforcement/encouragement has the positive correlation with pleasure.
3. Preference for reinforcement/encouragement has the negative correlation with internal motivation-effort.
4. Female high school students' perceptions of and preference for instructional behaviors in physical education have no significant effect on their internal motivation-tension.
