      (Abstract)
This study was designed to analyze the influence of rope-jumping to music on elementary school students' physical fitness and body composition, which improves their physical fitness and makes it possible to prevent and cure their obesity, to gain good effects in a short time and to get cheerful exercise in tune with music.
The subjects were boys and girls in fourth grade, attending D elementary school in the city of Daegu. The subjects were divided into three groups. One group(22 students) jumped rope one time, another group(23 students) did twice and the other group(20 students) did three times in a week. The period lasted for 12 weeks. The researcher employed a pretest and a post test in order to compare the improvement of physical fitness and body composition.
      The results were as follows.
      1. The effects of physical fitness according to the exercise frequency of rope-jumping to music in a week.
      1) The groups(both of boy and girl students jumping rope more than twice in a week) were significantly improved in agility compared with other groups.
      2) The groups(both of boy and girl students jumping rope more than three times in a week) were significantly improved in power compared with other groups.
      3) Girl students jumping rope more than three times in a week were significantly improved in muscular endurance but boy students in the same conditions had no significant change.
      4) Significant increases were not observed in the groups of boy and girl students in flexibility.
      5) The groups(boy students jumping rope more than three times, girl students more than twice in a week) were significantly improved in cardio-respiratory endurance

      2. The effects of composition according to the exercise frequency of rope-jumping to music in a week.
      1) Boy students jumping rope more than three times in a week were significantly improved in weight, percent body fat(%fat) and body mass index(BMI), but girl students in the same conditions had no significant change compared with other groups.
      2) The groups(both of boy and girl students jumping rope more than three times in a week) were significantly improved in muscle mass compared with other groups.

The results of this study suggest that the proper timing of application in rope- jumping to music be determined by analyzing its effects on all the graders of elementary school, elementary students' physical fitness and the prevention of and cure for their obesity be studied by analyzing the effects of rope-jumping to music according to the intensity of exercise and further research with more indepth approach of the body composition during rope-jumping to music be needed with the study using diet control.
