2011 세계육상선수권대회 유치에 대한 대구시민의 의식조사 = Research on Daegu citizen's consciousness about hosting 2011 World Championship in Athletics

Holding a mega Sport event effects not only economic sides, but also gives positive effects to overall of the society such as recasting the image of the region, and enhancing the community. In this sense, we need to retrospect our efforts to make 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics successful. Especially, Korea achieved the Triple Crown, for the 7th in the world, as Daegu held 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics, and it has a special meaning to Korea's national position on sport. Therefore, the purpose of this research is set to provide realistic and informative data for successful performance of the worldwide sport festival, 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics. Daegu citizen's consciousness are analysed by civility from personal character, expecting consciousness from personal character, and civility from expecting consciousness.
Daegu citizen's civility according to personal character is as follows.
First, the survey showed that repliers knew(90.2%) and didn't know(9.8%) about 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics, and there were significant differences according to sex, age, educational background and existing marriage.
Second, the survey showed that repliers knew(80.5%) and didn't know(19.5%) that World Championship in Athletics is a worldwide sport event, and there were significant differences according to sex, age and educational background.
Third, the survey showed that repliers were very interested(28.5%), slightly interested(61.8%), and uninterested(9.7%), and there were significant differences according to sex, age, educational background and residence.
Forth, the survey showed that repliers were positive(55.7%), neutral(40.0%), and negative(4.3%) hosting 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics, and there were significant differences according to educational background and residence.
Fifth, the survey showed that repliers got their information about hosting 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics from, TV(63.9%), radio2.1%), newspaper(9.0%), internet(7.8%), advertisements(2.0%), banner(8.2%), school(3.9%), and familly(3.0%), and there were significant differences according to sex and age.
Sixth, the survey showed that repliers intend to direct watch(21.6%), indirect watch(67.1%), and not watch(11.3%), and there were significant differences according to age and educational background.
Seventh, the survey showed that repliers attitudes toward volunteering for 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics were, will actively participate(26.7%), will not participate(23.2%), and I don't know(50.1%), and there were significant differences according to age, educational background and residence.
Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness according to 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics from personal character is as follows.
First, Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship(Civility) has significant differences among groups according to age and existing marriage.
Second, Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship(Environmental improvement) has significant differences among groups according to age and existing marriage.
Third, Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship(Economiceffects) has significant differences among groups according to age and existing marriage.
Forth, Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship(Civility) has significant differences among groups according to sex, age, residence and existing marriage.
Fifth, Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship(advances in sport) has significant differences among groups according to age and existing marriage.
Daegu citizen's expecting consciousness of 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics from civility is as follows.
First, expecting consciousness(civility․Economic effects․Environmental improvement․image recast․advances in sport) has significant differences among groups according to whether people acknowledge the hosting of 2011 Daegu World Championship in Athletics.
