This study was designed to identify effects of group counseling program based on the MBTI for middle-aged women on their self image and life satisfaction.
The research hypotheses were set up as follow;
First, the participated group in group counseling program based on the MBTI will have higher improvement of self-image than the non-participated group.
Second, the participated group in group counseling program based on the MBTI will have higher improvement of life satisfaction than the non-participated group
For this study, data from 26 middle-aged women ? 13 women were selected as experimental group and the rest were selected as control group by random sampling. The experimental group had 10 times’ group counseling program based on the MBTI and each time was 120 minutes a week. And this study verified the effect of group counseling program based on the MBTI to the middle-aged women’s self image and life satisfaction with ex ante-ex post test. Statistics which used for data analysis were T-test and ANCOVA
The result of the study was as follows.
First, the participated group in the group counseling program based on the MBTI had higher improvement in the total score of self-discretion than non-participated group
Second, the participated group in the group counseling program based on the MBTI had higher improvement in the total score of life satisfaction. Within 6 subordinate sections of life satisfaction, 4 subordinate sections-marriage satisfaction, health satisfaction, daily work satisfaction, and parent-child relationship satisfaction- are improved significantly.
