This study focuses on the 'Internet addiction,' especially the actual conditions of high school students' internet addiction, which have been a socially salient issue caused by the common use of the Internet in the twenty-first century. The aim of this study is to understand adolescents' internet addiction comprehensively and get educational implications by investigating the relationship between their internet addiction and stress in daily lives.
For the purpose of this study, the following question were set.
First, How are the realities of the internet use and the addiction of the junior high school students?
Second, Are there any differences in the degrees of the stress according to internet addiction of the high school students?
Third, Hou do we explain the stresses on the Internet addiction of the high school students?
Oh the basis of the results of research, some conclusions are as follows:
1. The state of the internet use of the high school students show much difference from other recent researchs. But according to the result of the internet addiction test, male students showed higher internet addiction than female students, the first graders showed the highest internet addiction and the third graders did the lowest, which was completely different from the previous reserches.
2. The investgation of any correlation between the internet addiction and stresses indicates that the higher the degree of the internet addiction was, the higher the stress was.
3. As a result of the research based on Stepwised Regression that we used to explain any correlation between internet addiction and stress, we found that internet addiction had great effects on stresses. These results showed that interpersonal relations stress had the highest figure (about 5.7%) of the stress types which internet addiction had effects on. It was followed by school background stress with 2.5 percent, home background stress with 1 percent.
