The primary objective of this thesis is to improve the writing abilities of high school students by teaching desirable sequence of sentence constituents. In 7th curriculum, the goal of Korean subject is to improve the creative ability of Korean learning. In addition, curriculum emphasizes that we have to connect the various views among function, knowledge, method, content and culture to contribute to the Korean culture creation. This means Korean teaching is not only understanding knowledge but also contributing to the practical using of Korean. This contribution leads the ability of controlling language culture.
Therefore, the teaching of Korean grammar should answer the purpose. Grammar is the primary and basic part, especially in the lesson of writing section. Sentence constituent is the standard unit and it is very important because sentence meaning and form can be various according to how to use it. Sequence among the sentence constituents decides the grammaticality of the sentence. Therefore, it is very important to speak correct sentences
This thesis refers to an analysis of the actual teaching condition and a remedy of the problem. Students can learn the sequence of sentence constituents through Practical Korean subject in 8th grade and Korean subject in 10th grade. However, this study is for the 10th grade students. First, this article says the error analysis of 10th grade and survey their knowledge of constituent sequence by searching. There are three parts in constituent sequence - subject and predicate, modifier and modificand, adverb and predicate, the ending of a word. According to the result, the necessary learning for the 10th grade is to study the honorific, activeness and passivity, sequence of the context in the part of subject and predicate. Also, it is very important to teach a pre-noun sequence and the modifier arrangement in the part of modifier and modificand. We have to consider the negative adverb sequence and the context sequence.
In reference to the curriculum, textbook and problems of teaching method, teaching order among grades and integration among other parts should be considered. Also, we should teach the basic concept, give abundant examples to the students and develop various teaching materials and methods.
In conclusion, this study is to improve curriculum, textbook and teaching method by understanding and analyzing the present learning contents in 10th grade student.
