어린이·청소년 도서관 포털의 모형 설계에 관한 연구 = A study on the planning model of library portal for children & young Adults

For the importance of knowledge and information in modern society is brought up to its prime concern, growth on Internet and information technology are changing the way of libraries to participate in providing valuable information significantly. One of the most significant changes in library services through the change would be providing residing contents of information collections through World-Wide-Web Internet service. Many Children & Young Adults libraries have accumulated volumes of information and these information is being offered as various forms of services.
To bring and accomodate Children & Young Adults who are, in recent years, used to commercial portal search engine and their demand Out of any other concerns, the pivotal point in developing portal site with merits that amplify library's strength in qualities, such as capacitated excellent quality information resources and its superb structural organizing ability result in bringing the user's usability to higher level is very important.
To achieve above perspectives, this study has grasped the features and roles of library portal through research and analyze of reference instances. Also, to apply as a primal reference for more efficient modeling of Children & Young Adults library portal, analyze on 32, currently running, Children & Young Adults web site has been done with followings in mind - content service, user service, form of service. With the basis of the analysis result, point of improvements and its functional matter as a library portal, I have planed Children & Young Adults library portal service model including Digital Contents Service, Search Service, User Service, Library Service.
I suggest following to Children & Young Adults library portal model plan with the result of this study.
First, Children & Young Adults library portal service should be able to offer resolution to confronted learning difficulties, persuasion of advance knowledge and creation of new knowledge.
Second, Children & Young Adults library portal service should contribute to create suitable reading environment and reinforce reading education and to improve in taking lessons, method of study, healthy Children & Young Adults leisure cultivation and improvement in information applicability through providing surroundings that variety of informations are available promptly.
Third, Managing officer of Children & Young Adults library portal service should construct digital information resources, provide convenient and approachable information surrounding and provide environment as efficient as possible to resolve information required difficulties and studies.
Fourth, It has to be planed out as a integrated information field with help of various scopes of content providers rather than as a individual amplitude, bring up its interoperability through adopting essential technologies that can be accepted internationally as standards and develop services more throughly focused on user's point of view.
Fifth, above suggestions made by this study should be able to content the information hunger Children & Young Adults and also expected to apply as a primal reference material for librarians to plan out Children & Young Adults portal model. To achieve this, suggested portal service model needs to be more specifically constructed with detailed policy and functional factors, furthermore, systematically phased development study approach such as sample site constructions to eliminate errors by practical trials.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대사회는 지식과 정보의 중요성이 더욱 대두되고 있으며 인터넷과 정보기술의 발전은 도서관에서 보다 가치 있는 정보를 제공할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 획기적으로 변화시키고 있다. 정보환경의 변화에 따른 어린이·청소년 도서관 서비스 중에서 가장 큰 변화 중 하나는 소장 자료를 웹에서 제공하게 된 것을 들 수 있다. 각 어린이·청소년 도서관에서는 웹사이트를 통해 정보서비스를 제공하기 위하여 많은 자료를 축적하기 시작하였으며 여러 가지 형태의 정보서비스를 제공하고 있다.
최근 도서관 보다는 상용검색포털이 익숙한 어린이·청소년들을 불러들이고, 요구가 다양한 어린이·청소년들을 계속 붙들 수 있는 강력한 서비스를 제공하려면 어린이·청소년 도서관에서는 많은 노력을 해야 할 것이다. 무엇보다도 품질이 우수한 정보자원을 소유하고 있고, 이를 구조적으로 잘 조직하는 역량이 있는 도서관의 강점을 살리면서, 이용자들의 이용성을 높이는 포털 사이트를 개발하는 것이 관건이다.
이에 본 연구는 도서관 포털의 참조사례를 조사 분석하여 도서관 포털의 기능 및 역할을 파악하였다. 또한 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털을 효율적으로 설계하기 위한 기초 자료로 활용하기 위하여 32개의 현행 국내 어린이·청소년 도서관 웹사이트를 통해 콘텐츠 제공 측면, 이용자 서비스 측면, 서비스 유형 측면으로 분석하였다. 그에 따른 분석결과 및 개선방안과 도서관 포털이 갖추어야 할 기능적 요건을 기반으로 디지털콘텐츠 서비스, 검색 서비스, 이용자 서비스, 도서관 서비스 등으로 구성된 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털 서비스 모형을 설계하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 토대로 도출할 수 있는 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털 모형설계의 제안사항은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털 서비스는 어린이·청소년들에게 자신의 각종 정보요구 문제를 해결하고, 지식을 추구하며, 새로운 지식을 창조하는 작업을 할 수 있도록 해야 한다.
둘째, 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털 서비스는 독서분위기 조성 및 독서교육 강화에 기여하고 다양한 자료를 활용할 수 있는 환경 제공을 통해 교수·학습방법을 개선하고 건전한 어린이·청소년 여가문화 조성 및 어린이·청소년의 정보자료 활용 능력 향상에 기여해야 한다.
셋째, 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털의 관리자는 디지털 정보자원을 구축하고, 편리한 정보접근 환경을 제공하며, 이용자들의 정보연구 문제 해결의 최적 수단이 될 수 있도록 하는 정보환경을 제공해야 한다.
넷째, 개별 어린이·청소년 도서관 차원보다 다양한 계층의 도서관들이나 콘텐츠 제공자들의 협력활동을 통한 통합 정보환경을 구축하여야 하며, 국제적으로 통용되는 표준화와 요소기술을 통하여 정보 서비스의 상호운용성을 높이고, 보다 철저한 이용자 중심의 서비스를 개발해야 한다.
다섯째, 본 연구에서 제안한 어린이·청소년 도서관 포털 서비스 모형 설계는 어린이·청소년들의 정보요구를 충족시킬 수 있을 것이고, 또한 현장 사서들에게는 효율적인 어린이·청소년 포털 모형을 설계하기 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이를 위해서는 제안된 포털 서비스 모형을 보다 구체적인 정책과 기능적 요소로 정리하고, 시범적인 구축작업을 통해 각종 시행착오를 줄여가는 등 단계적으로 개발활동을 나누어 접근하는 연구가 필요할 것이다.
