The purpose of this research is to draw analogies and differences of spiritual developments of Chakra, Teresa's Seven Stages of Prayer and Carl Jung`s Individuation. The measure of spiritual development is the degree of reduction of ego.
Ultimate goal of Chakra is to meet Shiva in the seventh Chakra. When Shakti reaches the apex of Crown Chakra, our ego is extinguished, and only the reality of spirit remains.
The purpose of Seven Stages of Prayer is union with God. At this point, the ego disappears within God.
The goal of Carl Jung`s Individuation is to approach to Self, not transcendent to Self, because the unconsciousness is too immense, and unconsciousness is always bigger than ego; therefore the unconsciousness can not be Conscious wholly.
In the goal, the Chakra is very similar with the Seven Stages of Prayer and Individuation. The first stage of the spiritual developments of Chakra, Teresa`s Seven Stages of Prayer and Carl Jung`s Individuation represent the consciousness world. The second is unconsciousness. The third is union of the opposite poles. The fourth is the stage of transformation. The fifth is the stage of the reality of psyche. The sixth is the place where the Self leads to ego. And the last is the place where ego melts into Self. The difference among 'Three' is that Carl Jung's Individuation says ego can not transcend the Self, but close gradually.
In structure, the first stage stands for earth, reality, and our consciousness world. The second stage represents unconsciousness. The third stage is union of polarity; the opposites poles union and the withdrawal of projection. In the case of Seven Stages of Prayer, it is not depend on opposite poles union, but choosing between consciousness and spiritual world. The fourth stage says the knowing of reality of psyche. The fifth stage stands for the experience of mystery spirit world. The sixth stage stands for encountering God or Spiritual Reality or Self. The seventh stage is place where we can live in God, and Self who exists within us. The differences are that.
In symbols, the first Chakra represents ground, earth, reality, human, and energy. Second Chakra represents unconsciousness, not returnable to the reality. The third Chakra represents unification, creation and transformation. The fourth Chakra represents rest, male and female, heaven and land, and between heaven and the earth. The fifth Chakra represents mystique, and unworldly world. The sixth Chakra represents unification between male and female, transformation, and combination between universal intelligence and wisdom. The seventh Chakra represents everything but nothing, downfalling universal energy, and unification of the highest and lowest; all of these represent unification of Chakra.
In Teresa's Seven Stages of Prayer, the first castle symbolizes for first meeting with God. The second castle is a conflict in choosing between God or other. The third castle is choosing God, and the fourth represents intimate relationship with God. The fifth castle represents marriage meeting, and the sixth castle is spiritual engagement. The last castle represents spiritual marriage.
The first stage of Jung's Individuation is Persona in consciousness. The second stage symbolizes a sea as unconsciousness. The third stage symbolizes a woman shape Anima or a man shape Animus. The fourth stage comes together with unconsciousness and Anima(Animus). The fifth stage symbolizes the end of personal unconsciousness, and the sixth stage symbolizes a collective unconsciousness. The last stage is where one reaches innermost Self and completion of oneself.
In symbolism, the meaning is similar with structure. The structure and symbol represent same meaning but different languages. In other words, the structure can symbolize in stages.
If we believe God or The Self or Psychic Reality has lived within us, the perception of human being will be changed greatly. It lifts our self-confidence and spreads the hope of human future. As Carl Jung mentioned, spiritual ability of human has evolved since our ancestor.
Consequently, if we believe in spiritual ability of ourselves, we can see our client as new spiritual existence.
