The study of this paper incorporates in order to reveal what would be the nature of the career exploration program of Rural Community's High School when it applied along with the career exploration program.
Depending upon the student's achievement level of maturity, this program is oriented with a focus on the curriculum development program of each student's level of achievement in presenting curriculum content systematically. The second year of High school is a transitional shifting stage in which case career exploration program is applied.
In order to study above-mentioned subject more effectively the following issues and assumptions were raised in question:
(1) How does the group of the student make difference in getting improvement in terms of Career Maturity Inventory between the group who participated in Career Exploration and who doesn't?
(2) What does it mean when the first group mark higher point in achievement in CMI tests?
(3) What does it mean when high school students might be significantly different in career maturity according to their academic achievement and their gender?
For pursuing this purpose, I selected 44 High School student who is located in Rural community and divided them in two groups - one experimental group composed of 22 students and controlled one 22. Students in the experimental group were counseled 11 times(one time takes 40 minutes) using Career-Exploration Program, while students in the controlled one did nothing. Both groups used pre-test and post- test (It is composed of 96 questions of 6 fields-36 questions of the attitude test and 60 questions of the capability test) for High School student developed "Career Maturity Inventory Test" by Korean Academic Research and Development Team.
The context of Career-Exploration program constitutes with such contents as Self-Comprehension, Value recognition, in the Process of decision making through which Career-Exploration Program Student will find out what would be the most appropriate choices of programs in setting up each individual career exploration.
The results of this study can summarize as followings:
(1) The Career-Exploration Program nurtures the individuals Career Maturity Attitude of High School Student: especially within the context of the cultivation of the self-independent attitude and its formation processes.
(2) These programs are not only enhancing the student's ability on understanding what would be the true meaning of the concepts in Career-Exploration in the process of decision making and it's choices for their future career build up. It also enhances Career Maturity Level of each student.
(3) Their academic achievement exercised no significant influence on planning, decisiveness, independence and mature attitude. As to career ability, there was no significant gap in their understanding of business world, rational decision making but occupational varied significantly and the p<.05 level significance. Their gender produced no significant difference to their planning, independence, and career attitude but decisiveness varied significantly at the p<.05 level of significance.
