People always carry cell phones, an indispensable item for consumers, and because unlike other digital products, it is a product that women have a high level of attachment for, several distribution businesses have recently begun trying to activate shopping malls through mobile internet, but until now, hardly any research has been conducted on the consumers who will actually be using these malls. With researches related to mobile commerce as well, because the range of mobile commerce was vaguely applied, research on the behavior of purchasing fashion products with mobile phones is in fact non-existent. Accordingly, this paper conducted research on discovering the factors that affect purchase intention when people use mobile shopping to purchase fashion products. The specific goals of this paper are: 1) discover the characteristics and risk patterns of mobile fashion shopping; 2) discover the effect the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping has on perceived value and purchase intention; 3) discover the effect the interaction of mobile fashion shopping and perceived risk has on perceived value; 4) see if the factors that affect purchase intention are differentiated according to personal innovation; and 5) empirically analyze to see if the factors that affect purchase intention are differentiated according to mobile internet lifestyle. In this paper, therefore, in order to examine potential mobile fashion shopping consumers, a survey was conducted using as subjects people who have experienced purchasing fashion products through online shopping mall from among the mobile internet users, and a total of 511 surveys were used. For data analysis, SPSS 12.0 was used to conduct descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, independent-samples T test, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and moderated regression analysis, and LISREL 8.70 was used to conduct confirmatory factor analysis and LISREL.When the results of this paper’s research are summarized, first, the results of conducting factor analysis to discover the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping showed four factors, instant connectivity, ease of use, enjoyment, and personalization/usefulness, and consumers recognized these most readily in their stated order. Also, the results of conducting factor analysis of perceived risk showed three factors, risk to privacy, economic/product quality/technical risk, and social risk, and consumers recognized these most readily in their stated order.Second, from the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping, personalization/usefulness, enjoyment, and ease of use were shown to exert positive influence on perceived value, and perceived value was shown to affect purchase intention.Third, the interaction between characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and perceived risk was shown to have a statistically significant moderating role between the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and its perceived value, thus lowering the perceived value of mobile fashion shopping.Fourth, when the subjects were divided according to personal innovation, the factors that affect purchase intention of mobile fashion shopping were seen to be differentiated according to groups. In both groups, with the exception of instant connectivity, factors such as personalization/usefulness, enjoyment, and ease of use were shown to affect perceived value and purchase intention, and this seems to be the result of consumers having a high recognition of instant connectivity factor, but not being able to use it actively. Also, while personalization/usefulness and ease of use were shown to have a greater effect on perceived value in the group with high personal innovation, enjoyment was shown to have a greater effect on perceived value in the group with low personal innovation. This signifies that, in case of the group with high innovation, mobile fashion shopping was evaluated to be somewhat more valuable due to the utility benefits provided by mobile fashion shopping, while in case of the group with low innovation, the enjoyment felt through the act of mobile fashion shopping exerted significant influence in perceiving the value of mobile fashion shopping highly. In addition, in case of the group with high personal innovation, perceived risk was shown to have a moderating role between the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and its perceived value.Fifth, the result of dividing the subjects according to mobile internet lifestyle and observing the resulting effect on purchase intention of mobile fashion shopping by group types showed that there were differences according to groups. The mobile internet lifestyle groups were classified as 'passively pursuing technology group,' 'mania group,' and 'skilled leader type group.' With all the groups, instant connectivity exerted no influence on perceived value, and in case of 'skilled leader type group,'enjoyment also did not exert influence. In all the groups, perceived value was shown to exert influence on purchase intention. In case of 'passively pursuing technology group, 'personalization/usefulness, ease of use, and enjoyment were shown to exert influence on perceived value, in that order, and perceived risk was shown to have a moderating role between the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and its perceived value. In particular, risk to privacy was highly recognized. In case of 'mania group,'it evaluated the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping more highly than other groups, and personalization/usefulness, ease of use, and enjoyment exerted influence on perceived value, in that order. In case of 'skilled leader type group,' personalization/usefulness and ease of use exerted influence on perceived value, in that order. This paper presented basic information that can be used by companies that are planning mobile fashion shopping when they are building their marketing strategy, by presenting the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and perceived risk that can influence the decision making process of consumers regarding mobile fashion shopping, and by discovering the factors that influence perceived value and purchase intention. In particular, it is judged that the results that presented the differences according to personal innovation will be useful in building a marketing strategy that target consumers with high propensity for innovation and opinion leadership, while the results that presented the differences according to mobile internet lifestyle will be helpful to consumer segmentation based targeting strategy.
