동화에 나타난 도덕적 갈등에 대한 토의활동이 유아의 도덕적 판단력과 행동에 미치는 영향 = Influence of discussion about moral conflict in a fairly-tale on children's moral judgment and behavior

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 도덕적 갈등이 있는 동화에 대한 토의활동이 유아의 도덕적 판단력과 정직한 행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 유아기 도덕적 발달에 대한 이해를 돕고 적절한 교육방법을 모색하고자 하였으며 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 동화에 나타난 도덕적 갈등상황에 대한 토의활동이 도덕적 판단력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
1-1. 유아의 비허용성에 대한 발달양상과 토의 활동에 따른 영향은 어떠한가?
1-2. 유아의 규칙독립성에 대한 발달양상과 토의 활동에 따른 영향은 어떠한가?
1-3. 유아 자신의 도덕적 판단에 대한 설명의 발달양상과 타당성은 어떠한가?
2. 동화에 나타난 도덕적 갈등상황에 대한 토의활동이 정직한 행동의 변화에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
본 연구의 대상은 본 연구자가 담임을 맡고 있는 경상남도 시지역에 위치한 만 5세 유아 30명이며 실험의 진행과정은 사전 검사, 8주간에 걸친 총 16회의 토의 수업 실시, 사후 검사 등으로 실시되었다.
본 연구에서 사용된 검사 도구는 Turiel(1978)이 제시한 각 영역 상황을 바탕으로 하고 류주현(1994)의 도덕적 판단력 검사를 참고로 하여 김은주(1999)가 제작한 것으로 하였다.
또 갈등상황의 토의수업자료는 조숙진(2000)이 어린이 도서연구회의 권장도서를 Kohlberg의 도덕발달 단계 이론에 따라 분석한 것 중 인습이전 수준 1.2단계와 인습수준 3단계 내에서의 도덕적 갈등상황이 있는 동화와 실험자가 조숙진의 도서 분석기준에 따라 분석하고 연구 목적에 대한 적합성과 유아의 흥미를 고려하여 선정한 동화를 사용하였다.
본 연구에서 수집된 자료는 paired-t test로 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
본 연구에서 선정한 연구 문제에 따라 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 유아의 도덕판단력의 비허용성에 대한 발달양상은 도덕.인습.개인영역에서 일탈행동에 대한 옳고 그름의 판단능력이 5세의 유아에게 이미 형성되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 유아들은 복합적인 갈등상황이 내포된 다면적 영역에서 판단을 어려워하는 양상을 보였다. 이러한 유아의 도덕판단력의 비허용성에 대한 발달양상으로 인해 동화에 나타난 도덕적 갈등상황에 대한 토의활동이 도덕.인습.개인영역을 제외한 다면적 영역에서만 긍정적인 효과를 준 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 도덕판단력의 규칙독립성에 대한 발달양상을 살펴본 결과 본 연구의 대상인 5세 유아는 아직까지 상당히 규칙에 동조하는 경향이 있었다. 그러므로 규칙 독립성은 하위 영역에서 통계적인 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 영역별로 살펴보면, 도덕.개인.인습적 영역보다 다면적 영역이 더욱 규칙 의존적인 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 도덕판단에 대한 설명의 발달양상을 살펴본 결과 본 연구의 대상인 5세 유아는 이미 도덕적 영역을 구분하여 사고하는 능력이 있었으나 개인적 영역에서는 인습적 준거와 도덕적 준거로 판단하는 경향이 많았다. 또 다면적 영역에서는 도덕적 준거로 판단하는 경향이 가장 높았다.
둘째, 도덕적 갈등상황에 관한 토의 활동은 정직한 행동의 증가에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study has investigated the effects of discussion about stories with moral conflict child's moral judgment and honest behavior to help understanding moral development in childhood and to find appropriate teaching methods.
The research questions are as follows.
1. What effects does the discussion about morally conflicting situation in stories have on moral judgment?
1-1. What are the effects of child's developmental aspect of impermissibility and discussion?
1-2. What are the effects of child's developmental aspect of regulation independency and discussion?
1-3. How are the child's developmental aspect of moral judgment explanation and reasonability?
2. What effects does the discussion about morally conflicting situation in stories have on the change of honest behavior?
The subjects of this study were 30 children of age 5 under the researcher, Kyungnam. The experiment was conducted in the form of pre-test, 8 week discussion class of total 16 times, and post-test.
Kim Eun-ju's test material, based on Turiel's suggestion and Rye, Ju-hyun's Moral Judgment Test, was used for the research.
Some stories of morally conflicting situation and researcher's selections were to discuss: For the morally conflicting stories, at first books of recommendation from Jo, Sook-jin's Children Book Center were chosen and then analyzed by Kohlberg's theory of moral development stage. Only books which fell into pre-conventional level 1.2 stage and conventional level 3 were used. Researcher had selected stories with purpose-suitability and child's interest and they were analyzed by Jo's standard. All the collected data were analyzed with paired-t test.
These are the results of selected research questions.
First, in child's developmental aspect of impermissibility, 5-year-old children already had ability to judge what is right or wrong about deviant behavior in moral.conventional.individual areas. However, children showed difficulty to judge complicated conflict situations in multilateral area. Such was child's developmental aspect, discussion about morally conflicting situation in stories had positive effects on child's multilateral area, not in moral.conventional.individual areas. In child's developmental aspect of regulation independency, the subjects of this research still had a considerable tendency to align oneself with the rules so regulation independency had no significant difference of statistical meaning in its sub-area. Judged in every area, children were more regulation-dependent in multilateral area than in the other areas. In child's developmental aspect of moral judgment explanation and reasonability, it was found that the subjects already had ability to think and divide moral area from the others. However, they tended to do it by conventional or moral conformity in the individual area and did it by moral conformity in the multilateral area.
Second, discussions about morally conflicting situation had positive effects on increasing numbers of honest behavior.
