보육시설에서의 유아 놀이행동 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 보육시설에서 유아의 놀이 행동의 유형을 분석하고 그러한 놀이 행동의 유형이 유아의 변인에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있으며, 이를 위해 어린이집에 재원하고 있는 유아 63명을 대상으로 관찰 분석하였다. 관찰 분석은 유아들의 자연스런 상태를 유지하기 위하여 자유활동 시간에 3대의 캠코더로 교실에서의 놀이 상황을 촬영한 후에 그 비디오를 보면서 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과와 논의를 바탕으로 나타난 결론은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 혼자놀이보다 함께놀이를 더 많이 하고 있으며, 이러한 경향은 유아의 성별, 연령, 놀이지도방식, 또래지명도 등의 차이에 관계없이 나타난다. 그러나 어린이집의 재원기간에 따라서는 차이가 있다. 다시 말하면 재원기간이 1년 미만이거나 2년 이상인 경우에는 함께놀이를 더 많이 하고 있으나 1년 이상 2년 미만인 경우에는 혼자놀이에도 많은 관심을 보여준다.
둘째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 혼자놀이를 하는 경우 비놀이 행동의 혼자놀이보다 독립적 혼자놀이를 더 많이 하고 있다. 이러한 경향은 유아의 성별, 놀이지도방식, 또래지명도, 재원기간 등의 차이에 관계없이 나타난다. 그러나 연령에 따라서는 차이가 있다. 다시 말하면 4세아는 독립적 혼자놀이를 유의미하게 더 하고 있으나 5세아는 비놀이 행동과 독립적 놀이 간에 차이가 없다.
셋째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 함께놀이를 하는 경우 대쌍놀이보다 집단놀이를 더 많이 하고 있다. 이러한 경향은 유아의 성별, 연령, 또래지명도, 재원기간 등의 차이에 관계없이 나타난다. 그러나 성인의 지도방식에 따라서는 차이가 있다. 다시 말하면 성인의 개입과 통제가 거의 없는 경우에는 대쌍놀이보다 집단놀이를 더 많이 하고 있으나 성인의 개입과 통제가 많은 경우에는 집단놀이와 대쌍놀이 간에는 차이가 없다.
넷째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 대쌍 놀이를 하는 경우 이성과의 놀이보다 동성과의 놀이를 더 많이 하고 있다. 이러한 경향은 유아의 성별, 놀이지도방식, 또래지명도, 재원기간 등의 차이에 관계없이 나타난다. 그러나 연령에 따라서는 차이가 있다. 다시 말하면 4세아는 이성놀이나 동성놀이에 차이가 없으나 5세아의 경우 동성놀이가 훨씬 더 많이 나타난다.
다섯째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 집단 놀이를 하는 경우 동성과의 놀이를 가장 많이 하고, 다음에 혼성과의 놀이이며, 이성과의 놀이는 가장 적게 나타났다. 이러한 경향은 유아의 연령, 또래지명도, 재원기간 등의 차이에 관계없이 나타난다. 그러나 성별, 놀이지도방식에 따라서는 차이가 있다. 다시 말하면 남아는 동성놀이가 다른 놀이보다 훨씬 더 높으나 여아는 동성또래집단 놀이와 혼성또래 집단 놀이가 유사하게 나타났다. 또 성인의 개입과 통제가 거의 없는 경우에는 동성놀이를 더 많이 하고 있으나 성인의 개입과 통제가 많은 경우에는 혼성놀이가 더 많고 동성놀이와 이성놀이가 비슷하게 나타난다.
이러한 결론을 바탕으로 하여 보육시설에서의 놀이지도를 위해 다음과 같이 제언하고자 한다.
첫째, 4-5세 유아들은 혼자놀이보다 함께놀이를 더 많이 하고, 재원기간은 이러한 놀이 형태에 영향을 주는 요인이 되고 있으므로 어린이집의 놀이 환경에 관심을 기울일 필요가 있다.
둘째, 4-5세 유아들은 혼자놀이를 하는 경우 비놀이 행동의 혼자놀이보다 독립적 혼자놀이를 더 많이 하고, 연령은 이러한 놀이 형태에 영향을 주는 요인이 되고 있으므로 4세아와 5세아의 혼자놀이를 위한 환경 구성에 유의할 필요가 있다.
셋째, 4-5세 유아들은 보육시설에서 함께놀이를 하는 경우 이성과의 놀이보다 동성과의 놀이를 많이 하고 있으나 성인의 개입과 통제가 있는 경우에는 이러한 놀이 형태에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 따라서 유아기에 성정체감 및 남녀 평등의식의 형성과 관련하여 유아의 놀이행동에 교사의 개입과 지도의 적절성에 대한 고려가 필요할 것으로 보여진다.
