Today's rapidly changing information society needs quite different view and method for the aged's life than those of the past. As man's lifespan gets longer and the aged increase speedily, The society has more tasks to work out for them to spend the rest of their lives in healthy and comfortable conditions. Now it proved very significant to research the aged's participation in lifelong education that influence how they complete their ego integrity.
This study is that to compare socio-demographic factor of the aged who has participated and not participated in lifelong education and to compare and analyze the difference of ego integrity from socio-demographic factor. And it compares the ego integrity of the aged who has participated and not participated in lifelong education to prove that the aged's lifelong education participation is important social activity to help the ego integrity of those. In additions, it considers the differences of the aged's feeling of satisfaction for lifelong education, that is contents, fees, instructors, etc.
The following are results. First, the rate of participation in lifelong education of the aged who are high educated, having spouse, and good financial condition is more high than the others. There could be no difference in the ego integrity of the aged integrity regarding sex or religion but considerable differences were found in changing educational, marriageable, financial conditions. Therefore the ego integrity of the aged who are highly educated, having spouse, and financial ability is proved to be high. Next, the ego of integrity of the aged who have participated on lifelong education is far higher than that of those who have not. The third, the feeling of satisfaction of the aged in lifelong education participation is proved to affect statically ego integrity of the aged. The forth, there could be seen difference in the ego integrity of the aged according to patterns of lifelong education contents.
Conclusions. First, Being proved that aged‘s participation in lifelong education is the most social activity to complete their ego integrity, the opportunity to participate in lifelong education should be extended to more aged. Second, it will be really necessary to initiate programs for those who are not educated, not having spouse and financial abilities to complete their ego integrity. The third, We also need to have various good programs of lifelong education with reasonable fees and instructors who are friendly and reliable. The forth, concerning the patterns of lifelong education, we should focus on developing programs to train skills which the aged use for a living and, as a result, it will help them complete their ego integrity. Nowadays the aged should not be treated as retirees dismissed from society but as elders who have rich experience and wisdom to contribute to society. For that reason, we have to help the aged to participate actively in lifelong education and to have the ability to solve their problems of living by themselves.
The government would also effort to draw a desire of learning of the aged's leaving neglected through the social, political systems.
