중년 여성의 불안정 애착, 역기능적 태도, 부부갈등, 우울 및 자녀의 문제행동과의 관계 = The Relationship among Middle-Aged Women's Insecure Attachments, Dysfunctional Attitudes, Marital Conflicts, Depression, and Their Children’s Behavior Problems

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 중년 어머니들의 불안정 애착이 어떠한 심리적 경로를 통하여 중년 여성의 우울증과 청소년 자녀의 문제행동에 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적으로 불안애착과 회피애착이 역기능적 태도와 부부갈등을 통하여 우울을 증가시키고, 중년 어머니의 우울이 다시 청소년 자녀의 내면화 문제와 외현화 문제에 전달되는 가설적 모형을 설정하여 공변량 구조모형을 통하여 검증하였다. 경상남도내의 마산, 창원, 진주, 양산에 소재하고 있는 10군데 중학교 2, 3학년에 재학 중인 40개 학급의 508쌍의 청소년과 어머니의 자료가 분석에 이용되었다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년 여성의 불안애착이 우울증을 유발하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이 결과는 불안정 애착 중 불안애착이 우울증의 핵심요소임을 재확인한 결과로 여겨진다. 둘째, 역기능적 태도가 불안애착과 우울증간의 매개역할을 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 부부갈등이 우울증을 유발하며, 불안애착이 역기능적 태도와 부부갈등을 통하여 우울증에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 넷째, 부부갈등이 청소년 자녀의 외현화 문제에는 영향을 미치지 않고, 내면화 문제에만 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 다섯째, 중년 여성의 우울은 청소년 자녀의 내면화 문제에는 영향을 미치지 않고 외현화 문제에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 여섯째, 불안정 애착 유형 중 불안애착은 우울증상에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 회피애착은 영향을 미치는 않는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 결국 중년 어머니의 배우자에 대한 불안애착은 우울증을 유발하는데, 역기능적 사고의 수준에 따라서 우울증상이 더 심해질 수 있으며 이러한 중년 어머니의 우울증상은 다시 세대간에 전달되어 청소년 자녀의 외현화 증상을 증가시킬 수 있다고 결론내릴 수 있다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점 및 향후 연구방향이 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological process in which middle-aged mothers' insecure attachments have effects on their depression and their children's behavior problems. For this purpose, the current researcher hypothesized a model in which anxiety attachment and avoidance attachment increase depression through marital conflicts and dysfunctional attitudes and in which middle-aged mothers' depression is in turn transmitted to the internalized and externalized problems of their teenagers. The hypothetically constructed model was tested using structural equational modeling. Data were drawn from 508 adolescents of 10 junior high schools (the second- and third-year students from 40 classes) in Changwon, Masan, Jinju, and Yangsan, Kyongnam and their mothers. Findings of this study were as follows. First, anxiety attachments of middle-aged women led to their depression. This turned out to confirm that the anxiety attachment is the linchpin of depression among insecure attachment. Second, middle-aged women's dysfunctional attitude mediated the relations of anxiety attachment to depression. Third, marital conflicts brought about the middle-aged women's depression and anxiety attachments had influenced their depression through dysfunctional attitudes and marital conflicts. Fourth, the influence of marital conflicts on their teenagers was found to be limited only to internalized problems, not to externalized ones. Fifth, on the contrary, middle-aged women's depression impacted their teenagers' externalized problems, but not internalized ones. Sixth, the anxiety attachment among insecure attachment played a key role in inducing depression, while avoidance attachment did not. In conclusion, middle-aged mothers' anxiety attachments with their respective spouses were said to contribute to inducing depression, which can be aggravated by the dysfuntional thinking of the mothers. Transmitted to the next generation, the depression of the mothers can increase the external problems of their teenagers. Lastly, the limitations of this study were addressed, followed by recommendations for future research.
