Information oriented society requires steady learning for the new information, and good communication skill for the cooperation with citizen of the world. On this account, education also requires learning method to enhance the problem-solving skill of students. For this trend, many people regard PBL(Problem Based Learning) as desirable Instruction-learning model for active learners. Moreover, by highly developed information & communication technologies, learners and teachers can overcome the limitations of time and space on various online and offline environment.
The purpose of this study is to develop the problems focused on learner''s acting and apply Instruction·learning Model based on e-PBL
using Blended Learning Strategy in real life. The summary of this study is as follows.
First, this study is to develop activity-based problems and verify the application of them.
Second, this study develops e-PBL based plans focusing on Society Majors of 3rd graders.
Third, this study applies these learning plans to educational field, and analyze its effectiveness by researching the satisfaction degree of e-PBL through Edunet-Community and the self-reflection note of learners.
This study comes along with one 3rd grade class(Men:23, Women:17) in Seoul ''S'' elementary school. The result of this study is as follows.
First, PBL enhanced motivation and positive participation on learning environment and this enhancement also built problem solving abilities.
Second, learners made use of various information and knowledge about their learning by on-line community anytime and anywhere. In this online learning process, learners build cooperative learning skills.
Third, learners could promote the effectiveness of learning by interaction with one another on online and offline communities.
On these results, e-PBL gave more positive learning effect on learners than offline normal learning process from the view of recognition, emotion and psychomotor. To apply e-PBL more effectively, we should prepare e-PBL program throughly to help learners comprehend e-PBL, and e-PBL teachers should provide various feedbacks actively to learners in online communities for communication between learners. Added on to these, it is necessary to develop effective and proper problems that fit for e-PBL purposes and to build well-developed systems to apply e-PBL.
