국제결혼 이주여성을 위한 한국어 교재 개발 방안 : 부산·경남지역 중심으로 = (A) study on developing Korean language teaching material for immigrant wives : focusing on Busan and South Gyungsang region

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As the number of immigrant women who marry Koreans is rising steadily, Korean society shows more interest in their lives. However, Korean language education program for them is almost not existing.
This paper is to seek a way to teach Korean properly to the foreign residents.
The researches of this field have mainly focused on Korean language learners who join schools or institutes, isolating immigrant workers or foreign wives who can't have access to the systematic education. Thus, a special curriculum or textbook catering for those is necessary. This paper reviewed status quo of schools or institutes which teach Korean to foreign residents in Busan and South Gyungsang province to find shortages to be improved. The specifics are included in chapter 2.
A survey of teachers and learners of the language centers was also conducted and analyzed in the same chapter.
Chapter 3 reviewed the necessity of special teaching materials for the targeted group and the group's feature. It also pointed out the problems of current teaching materials to suggest the proper direction of material development and its contents.
Based on the previous chapters, chapter 4 showed an exemplary material which reflects the characteristics of immigrant wives. An example of a beginner's textbook and full contents of one chapter were introduced.
International marriage which brings foreign women to Korea is an irreversible trend, so further studies in Korean language education are required to help them root firmly here.
