경주스포츠 참가자의 도박동기와 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향 및 사회적응의 관계 = (The)relationship among gambling motives, irrational gambling belief, gambling addiction and social adaptation of racing sports participants

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 경주스포츠 참가자의 사회인구학적 특성에 따라 도박동기, 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향, 그리고 사회적응의 차이의 검증과, 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따라 도박동기, 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향, 그리고 사회적응의 차이의 검증하고, 도박동기가 비합리적 도박신념에 미치는 영향, 도박동기가 도박중독성향에 미치는 영향, 도박동기가 사회적응에 미치는 영향, 비합리적 도박신념이 도박중독성향에 미치는 영향, 비합리적 도박신념이 사회적응에 미치는 영향, 도박중독성향이 사회적응에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 나아가 도박동기, 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향, 그리고 사회적응 모형의 적합도를 검증하고 인과관계를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다.
본 연구는 2006년 경기도 광명, 경기도 과천, 경기도 미사리에 소재하고 있는 경륜, 경마, 경정 경기장을 이용하는 성인 남ㆍ여를 대상으로 비확률표본추출법(nonprobability sampling) 중 편의추출법(convenience sampling)을 사용하여 표본을 추출하였다. 표집 인원은 각 250명으로 총 750명을 표집하였다. 한편 도박자의 진단을 위하여 사우스 옥스 도박진단척도(The South Oak Gambling Screen : SOGS)를 사용하여 사교성 도박자, 문제성 도박자, 병적 도박자로 구분하였다. 회수된 설문지중 사교성 도박자로 판명된 것은 분석대상에서 제외시킨 후, 문제성 도박자와 병적 도박자로 한정하여 설문지를 코딩하였다. 또한 설문지 중 기입누락, 기입불명확, 이중기입, 편향적 기입등과 같은 연구 자료로 부적합한 설문지를 제외하였으며, 최종 분석에 사용된 표본은 417명 이었다. 통계처리 방법은 SPSS 12.0과 Amos 5.0 프로그램을 이용하여 연구 목적에 따라 분석하였다. 자료분석을 위해 사용한 통계분석은 빈도분석(frequency analysis), 탐색적 요인분석(exploratory factor analysis), 확인적 요인분석(confirmatory factor analysis), 신뢰도 분석(reliability analysis), t-test, 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA), 상관분석(correlation analysis), 중다회기분석(multiple regression analysis), 구조방정식모델(structure equation model) 분석이다. 이상과 같은 연구방법 및 절차를 통해 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
첫째, 사회인구학적 특성에 따른 도박동기와 비합리적 도박신념은 차이가 없었고, 도박중독성향, 사회적응은 차이가 있었다. 즉, 사회인구학적 특성에 따른 도박중독성향의 차이를 검증한 결과, 남성이 여성보다 내성에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 연령은 40대 집단이 통제력 상실과 중요한 관계의 위협에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 사회인구학적 특성에 따른 사회적응의 차이를 검증한 결과, 연령은 40대 집단이 책임성에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 30대 집단이 충동성과 사회성에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 교육수준은 대학재학/대졸 집단이 책임성에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 빈도는 6회이상 집단이 책임성에서 높은 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따른 도박동기, 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향, 그리고 사회적응은 차이가 있었다. 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따른 도박동기의 차이를 검증한 결과, 기간은 1년이상-2년이하 집단이 흥분동기에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 종목은 경정 집단이 회피동기, 흥분동기, 금전동기에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따른 비합리적 도박신념의 차이를 검증한 결과, 기간이 1년이상-2년이하 집단이, 종목은 경정 집단이 자기과신적 비논리적 추론에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 빈도는 6회이상 집단이, 종목은 경정 집단이 기술 과대평가적 추론에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따른 도박중독성향의 차이를 검증한 결과, 기간은 3년이상 집단이 중요한 관계의 위협에서 높은 것으로 나타났고, 종목은 경정 참여자 집단이 금단증상, 추적, 중요한 관계의 위협에서 높게 나타났다. 경주스포츠 참가정도 및 종목에 따른 사회적응의 차이를 검증한 결과, 빈도는 6회이상 집단이 책임성에서 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 종목은 경정 참여자 집단이 충동성과 사회성에서 높은 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 도박동기는 비합리적 도박신념에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 회피동기, 흥분동기, 금전동기는 자기과신적 비논리적 추론과 기술 과대평가적 추론에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 도박동기는 도박중독성향에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 회피동기, 흥분동기, 금전동기는 내성, 통제력 상실, 중요한 관계의 위협에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 흥분동기, 금전동기는 금단증상에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 회피동기, 금전동기는 추적에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 도박동기는 사회적응에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 회피동기, 흥분동기, 금전동기는 책임성, 적응성, 충동성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 회피동기, 금전동기는 사회성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
여섯째, 비합리적 도박신념은 도박중독성향에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 자기과신적 비논리적 추론과 기술 과대평가적 추론은 내성과 통제력 상실에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 자기과신적 비논리적 추론은 추적과 중요한 관계의 위협에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 기술 과대평가적 추론은 금단증상에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
일곱째, 비합리적 도박신념은 사회적응에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 자기과신적 비논리적 추론과 기술 과대평가적 추론은 책임성, 적응성, 충동성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
여덟째, 도박중독성향은 사회적응에 영향을 미친다. 즉, 내성은 책임성, 충동성, 사회성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 금단증상은 사회성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 통제력 상실은 책임성, 적응성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 축적은 충동성에, 중요한 관계의 위협은 책임성, 적응성, 충동성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
아홉째, 도박동기, 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향, 그리고 사회적응은 인과관계가 있다. 즉, 도박동기는 비합리적 도박신념, 도박중독성향 그리고 사회적응에 직ㆍ간접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 비합리적 도박신념과 도박중독성향은 도박동기와 사회적응의 관계를 매개하는 중요한 변수로 밝혀졌다. 이는 도박동기→비합리적 도박신념→도박중독성향→사회적응과 도박동기→도박중독성향→사회적응 등의 시간적ㆍ누적적 구조를 보이고 있다.
