초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생의 학교적응과의 관계 = (The) relation between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생의 학교적응과의 관계를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 설정한 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성은 어떠한가?
둘째, 학생들의 학교적응은 어떠한가?
셋째, 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생들의 학교적응과의 관계는 어떠한가?
이러한 연구문제를 해결하기 위하여 문헌연구와 조사연구를 병행하였다. 문헌연구를 통해 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학교적응의 개념 및 기능, 영역과 하위요인 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 이러한 문헌연구를 토대로 조사연구를 실시하였는데 연구대상의 표집은 담임교사의 성별, 나이, 학교급지등을 고려하여 부산 시내 초등학교 6학년 636명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 본 조사 연구에 사용되어진 측정도구는 첫째, 이문환(2005)에 의해 제작된 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성 측정 질문지를 지도교수의 자문을 받아 수정·보완한 것인데 신뢰도는 Cronbach α 계수는 .94였다. 둘째로는 박희자(2003)에 의해 제작된 학교적응 측정 질문지를 기본으로 지도교수의 자문을 받아 수정·보완한 것으로 신뢰도는 Cronbach α 계수는 .93이었다.
자료의 처리는 SPSS WIN(Statistical Package for Social Science / for WINDOW) 프로그램(Ver 10.0)을 이용하였고, 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성 수준과 학생의 학교적응 정도를 알아보기 위하여 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다. 그리고 배경변인별 차이를 검증하기 위해 t-test와 F검증을 이용 하였으며, 집단 간 유의한 차이를 보였을 경우 Scheffé test로 사후검증을 하였다. 마지막으로 Pearson의 적률상관계수를 이용하여 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생의 학교적응과의 관계를 알아보았다.
이러한 연구과정을 통해 얻어진 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성에 대한 전체적인 경향은 평균이상의 지도성을 발휘하였으며 하위요인별로 지적자극, 카리스마, 개별적 배려 순으로 높게 나타났다. 배경변인에 대한 차이는 학교급지 별로는 C,D급지, 나이에 대해서는 나이가 상대적으로 많은 교사, 자녀 여부에 따라서는 자녀가 있는 교사일수록, 미혼보다는 기혼교사가, 아동의 성별로는 남학생보다 여학생일 경우 학생들이 인식하는 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성이 더 높게 나타났다.
둘째, 학생의 학교적응은 보통이상으로 하고 있었고, 배경변인별로는 교사의 결혼여부와 학교 급지간, 학생의 성별에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났는데, 담임교사가 기혼일 경우, 학교 급지가 C,D급지 일 때, 학교적응을 상대적으로 잘하는 것으로 나타났고, 학생의 성별이 여학생인 경우가 남학생보다 학교적응을 잘하는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생의 학교적응과의 관계를 분석한 결과 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성에 따라 학생의 학교적응은 r=0.63(p<0.01)으로 ‘상관이 높다’로 나타났다. 따라서 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성에 따라 학생의 학교적응에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
이상과 같은 결론을 바탕으로 하여 다음과 같은 제언을 제시할 수 있다.
첫째, 초등학교 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성과 학생의 학교적응과의 관계는 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성의 전체 수준을 지금보다 높을 수 있는 방안이 강구되어야겠다.
둘째, 학생의 학교적응은 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성뿐 아니라 다른 측면에서 영향을 받을 수 있다. 따라서 담임교사의 변혁적 지도성 이외 학생의 학교적응에 미치는 요인을 살펴보아야겠다. 그리고 본 연구에서는 질문지 방법의 조사연구에 의한 것이므로 문화기술법과 같은 질적 방법에 의한 후속연구가 이루어져야겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students.
For the study, three research questions are proposed as follows
1. What is the transformational leadership of elementary school teachers?
2. What is the school adaptation of students?
3. What is the relation between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students?
To accomplish this purpose, literature review and survey research were conducted. Through the literature review, the concept, function, domain and sub-factors of elementary school teachers' transformational leadership and students' school adaptation was examined.
The subjects of the study were selected 636 sixth students at clustered random classifying elementary schools in Busan metropolitan city. Two different kinds of survey questionnaires were administered, such as those of the transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students. The Cronbach's coefficient of the transformational leadership of elementary school teachers questionnaire was .94, while the school a aptation of students scale was .934.
The collected data was processed statistically by the SPSSWIN(Statistical Package for Social Science for WINDOW) program(Ver. 12.0).
Average and standard deviation of each factor were used. To verify the difference of their background variables, t-test, F-test, and Scheffe's Post Hoc Tests were done. And Pearson's correlation was used to make the correlation analyses between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students.
The findings of this study were as follows:
First, the overall trend about the transformational leadership of elementary school teachers showed the high recognition for intellectual stimulation, charisma, individual consideration in order. island·backlands school rather than urban or rural school, older teachers rather than others, teachers with children rather than others, married teachers rather than single teachers, female students rather than male students carry higher elementary school teachers' transformational leadership.
Second, school adaptation of students proved to be different according to marriage of teacher, region, and sex of student. Married teachers rather than single teachers, island·backlands school rather than urban or rural school, and female students rather than male students carry higher students' school adaptation.
Third, there is high positive correlation was .63 between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students. Such as transformational leadership of elementary school teachers effort influences the school adaptation of students.
Based on the above results, the suggestions of the study are as follows:
First, between transformational leadership of elementary school teachers and the school adaptation of students is high positive correlation. Therefore, these teachers need to upgrade the overall level of the transformational leadership.
Second, student's school adaptation can be influenced in other aspect as well as transformational leadership of teachers. Therefore, follow up research must search factor which influence in student's school adaptation.
Third, this study was made by the questionnaire research, therefore the follow up research by the qualitative method like ethnography should be made.
