The Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) which will launched in 2008, is a multi-purpose geostationary to relay communication, and observe the maritime regions and the meteorological phenomena. This satellite is planned to install the Image Navigation and Registration (INR) System to generate the precise image of the Earth. To check the characteristics of Image Motion Compensation (IMC) algorithms for the INR system, a computer program is developed. According to the orbit errors ( the longitude, the latitude, radial distance and orbit yaw) and attitude errors ( roll, pitch, yaw errors), the capabilities of the image distortions are analyzed. The distorsions of images can be compensated by no compensation, GOES I-M IMC algorithm, Modified IMC (MIMC) algorithm. Using the copensated images, the efficiency of images each IMC algorithm are analyzed. The capability of each IMC algorithm, and compared the capability of compensation algorithm is confirmed based on compensated images. The MIMC yields better results than GOES IMC. However both the algorithms well compensate for the distorted images. The results of this research can be used as valuable asset to design of INR system for COMS. This research also world make a great contribution to the core satellite technology like the INR system.
