이야기 음악을 적용한 즉흥 연주 지도 방안 연구 : 초등학교 3학년을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

21세기는 변화의 세기이며, 정보의 세기이다. 급격하게 변화하고, 계속해서 생겨나는 정보 홍수의 시대 속에서 현대 사회는 많은 정보를 가지고 있는 사람보다 가지고 있는 정보를 창의적으로 이용하여 21세기의 세계화, 정보화, 다양화 사회에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있는 사람을 필요로 한다. 이렇게 정보를 창의적으로 활용할 수 있는 능력이 강조되면서 음악 교육에서도 창의적 활동에 중점을 둔 창작 영역이 강조되어야 할 중요한 영역이라 할 수 있다. 특히, 창작 영역 중 즉흥 연주는 창작 영역 중에서 어린 아이들의 흥미를 자극하고, 자발적이며 창의적인 음악 활동 할 수 있으며 음악 학습에 있어서 어떠한 활동보다도 어린이들의 자유로운 선택과 표현이 허용된다는 장점이 있다.
그러나 대부분의 교사들이 즉흥 연주를 기보 능력과 연계화시켜 생각하기 때문에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 창작활동에 대한 부담감을 줄이고 즉흥 연주의 효과를 최대한으로 발휘하기 위하여 즉흥 연주에 이야기 음악을 적용해 보았다. 이야기 음악이란 동화나 생활 속에서 악기로 표현할 수 있는 요소를 찾아내서 음악의 구성 요소를 적절히 결합한 후 이를 여러 가지 악기로 연주하는 것이다.
또한 초등학교 3학년은 음악이라는 단일 교과를 처음 접하는 학년이다. 이때 음악적 능력을 일정한 수준까지 길러주는 것이 고학년이 되어서 음악의 흥미와 학습 능력을 떨어뜨리지 않는 중요한 역할을 하게 할 것이다. 이 시기에 음악의 흥미를 잃어버리면 고학년이 되어서는 흥미를 되찾기 힘들다.
이에 본 연구는 3학년 아동의 특성과 음악적 감각에 맞는 학습 방법을 고찰하고, 이야기 음악을 적용하여 아이들의 즉흥 연주 능력을 신장시키는데 목적을 두었다. 또한 학교 현장에 적용 가능한 즉흥 연주 지도 방안을 제시하고자 현행 제 7차 교육과정에 나오는 국어 교과서에 있는 이야기와 3학년 수준에 맞는 문학 작품을 이야기 자료로 만들고, 이 시기에 학습되어야 할 음악 개념에 따라 지도안을 재구성하였으며 상황에 따라 지도안을 개발하여 연구자의 담임학급인 3학년 학생들에게 적용하였다.
그 결과 세 가지 측면에서 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
먼저 정의적 영역에서는 아동들이 갖고 있는 즉흥 연주에 대한 부담감을 줄일 수 있으며 소집단 협동학습을 통한 활동으로 아동들에게 타인에 대한 배려, 의견수렴, 의견 조정 등의 민주주의적 태도를 자연스럽게 함양시킬 수 있었다. 또한 음악에 흥미를 가지고 있지 않은 아이들에게도 흥미를 유발시킬 수 있었다.
인지적인 면에서는 음악 개념을 보다 더 분명하게 이해할 수 있었고, 음악 교과 외의 국어, 체육 학습에 도움이 되었다.
즉흥 연주 능력의 평가에서는 즉흥 연주 및 표현 능력이 향상되었고 단순하고 감각적인 단계에서 점차 음악 개념에 맞게 음악적으로 수준 있는 단계로 심화 발전 되었다. 또한 기발하고 창의적인 즉흥 연주가 가능해졌다.
본 연구를 통해 이야기 음악 활동은 어린이들의 즉흥 연주 능력을 신장시키킬 수 있었다. 따라서 연구자는 이야기 음악 활동이 자발적인 참여와 적극적인 표현을 할 수 있는 중요한 활동이라는 것이라는 인식을 확고히 하게 되었다.

21st century is the time of change and information. In the rush flow of information, the one who can actively adjust and use the information he has to react for the perpetually diversified and global society than a person who has more information is required. In the present society that emphasizes on the faculty to use information creatively, creativity in composing music is accentuated in music education as well. In particular, improvised play intrigues children's interest, draw their spontaneous and creative participation , and permit them more free selection and expression.
However, teachers feel difficulty for they think children's musical proficiency is prerequisite for improvised play. Story music is applied to decrease pressure of creative activities and maximize the effect of improvised play. Story music is the music of which elements that can be described by music from fairy tales and daily life are combined with musical constituent and then played with various musical instruments. Children are introduced to the first formal musical course when they become 3rd grade in elementary school. It is an essential period to grow children's musical faculty to the certain level so they can conserve their interest in music and learning ability when they go up to higher grades. If they lose their interest, it is difficult for them to retrieve it in upper grades.
The aim of this study is to observe teaching methods which is suitable for the musical sense of the 3rd grade elementary school children and develop their improvised musical faculty by applying story music. To suggest applicable teaching methods for improved play, stories from present korean text of 7th course of education and literary tales written for the 3rd grade students are chosen as material and lesson plans are rearranged complying with musical conception which is devised to be taught to children. These lesson plans are applied to 3rd grade students in my class. As a result, conclusions are drawn in three aspects.
First in the area of definition, children can lower the pressure of improvised play. They are able to learn skills of consideration, agreement, negotiation through group works and democratic attitude naturally. Story music can appeal to children who didn't have interest in music.
For intellectual aspect, story music helps students to perceive musical conception more clearly and aids other subjects such as korean and physical education. Children's proficiency of improvised play and expression improved when evaluated and they progressed from very simple and sensible stage to musically sophisticated stage. Children are able to be more creative and improvise their play.
