Through the outcome of this study, following are implications to be suggested to practical and political fields of social welfare;
with regard to implications for social welfare practice, first, modification of social welfare intervention in needed according to the type of family, i.e, single-mother family or single-father family. Second, it was found that adolescents of single-father family felt a lot of burdens on role of family. Therefore, it is necessary to provide them with programs to help daily life. Third, it was found that adolescents of single-mother had stable emotion and such emotional reaction gave positive affect to adjustment of school life, and on the basis of this fact it is necessary to supply them with practical intervention or program for improvement of overall functions of family rather than with limited program. Fourth, it was revealed that school achievement of adolescents from single-parent family was low so that support of learning program after class is required for them to get chance for study, varied specialty training or cultural experience. Fifth, it was found that the higher was level of family family resilience perceived by adolescents of single-mother or single-father family, the better did they adjusted themselves to school life. Such result shows that all the adolescents of single-parent family do not have difficulties in adjusting themselves to school life. Accordingly, it is necessary to prepare family program not from the viewpoint of problem-oriented approach to adolescents of single-parent family but from that of strong point in order to strengthen positive family functions and to change, improve negative family functions through focusing on functions of family as per family pattern.
For the social welfare policy implications, first, support policy is required for preventing various problems through implementation of policy of economical help in living for whole family as per the pattern of single-mother or single-father family and for strengthening functions of family. Second, in order to help and improve study of adolescents of single-parent family, institutional and financial support by the government is also required for securing space for their protection and education, study room after class and program operation.
With respect to intervention in single-parent adolescents, priority should be placed on the development of necessary programs which would help recover and strengthen their family functions not from the clinicopathological viewpoint but from the advantage viewpoint on the basis of such practical and political implication.
