The needs of improvement in quality of life increase the wants of tourism and tourism shopping. Moreover as internet is adopting, customer wants become various and the methods and the services of tourism shopping are changing rapidly. Therefore online tourism shopping, especially internet duty free shop needs to understand the behavior of internet consumers in order to formulate appropriate marketing strategies.
Many of previous studies on the duty free shop have focused on its physical environment, not on the service competitiveness and marketing strategies in customer point of view, due to its characteristics. And furthermore empirical research about internet duty free shop is rare even in spite of this huge electronic commerce environment. Therefore, in this research, I propose technology acceptance model(TAM) to identify factors that make customers continuously use internet duty free shop and "service quality" variable is added to the TAM. The TAM is widely used model in IT technology acceptance study and it is also being widely applied to areas of internet and electronic commerce.
In short, the purpose of the study is to identify the determinant factors influence on intention to use e-tourism shopping, applying internet duty free shop and make suggestions how to contribute the customer relation management marketing towards profit increase of internet duty free shop through customer satisfaction.
To achieve the purpose of this study, 164 out of 170 questionaries which were distributed to tourism community and business traveller analyzed regression analysis with SPSS 12.0.
Major findings of this research are as follows;
First, the perceived ease of use has significant affect on the perceived usefulness but does not have significant affect on attitude toward use. The perceived ease of use indirectly effect to intention to use internet duty free shop through perceived usefulness.
Second, the 5 elements which are tangibility, empathy, reliability, responsiveness, assurance in service quality are classified 2 large-scale elements which are tangibility (tangibility and empathy) and reliability (reliability, responsiveness, and assurance). And service quality has significant affect on the perceived usefulness but indirectly attitude toward use. The reliability directly effects on intention to use but the tangibility doesn't.
Third, the direct factor affects attitude toward use is perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use and service quality indirectly effect to attitude toward use through perceived usefulness.
Fourth, empirical results also indicate that the reliability and attitude toward use effects to intention to use, but tangibility does not directly effect on intention to use.
Fifth, the perceived usefulness and the reliability have strongly impact intention to use internet duty free shop than the others. However, we have to pay attention to the perceived ease of use and tangibility of service quality continuously because they indirectly affect the intention to use through perceived usefulness and attitude toward use.
In addition, the main reasons for internet users not to use internet duty free shop are to concern about security, and feel easier to do transaction in current familiar way. The results are interesting and useful for the strategic marketing planning of internet duty free shop. Therefore, the internet duty free shop should consider these results when formulating the internet marketing strategies.
